Speculation: Another year of this Bluc **** (The 2024-25 season thread)

Spence can’t have that much value around the league. If he’s the one who goes then that tells me we’re either getting a middling, non-needle mover or are going to massively overpay in the way of futures/picks. Actually, probably both.
I like Spence would rather have DD moved which obviously is a a pipe dream. But if he's moved, it means Clarke gets to play which at least is a positive. The less these corrupt fools tamper with the roster the better.. so im fine with a middling if thats whats happening vs something much bigger and more destructive.

Its sad that what seems like a high degree of sarcasm to your average poster is much closer to the truth for this franchise.
I really don’t doubt that we’d see at least 1 playoff game where they go 12-6 just to scratch Clarke (with Burroughs and the 12th forward getting 50 seconds of ice time).

I was just saying in another thread how brutal we were on the regular season 2010s Kings despite how they amped up in the playoffs and that the moment the playoff gravy train stopped, heads rolled

Meanwhile, we're chastised for wanting more from the 2020s Kings and that's while KNOWING that they turn into absolute pudding in the playoffs and heads are as secure as they come and we're supposed to celebrate mediocrity.

Meek, p***y ass organization has gone completely soft. What a depressing unraveling of a championship infrastructure and culture.

I’ve already rationalized the Lombardi years in my brain as the exception to the rule. This is who the LA Kings are. This is their status quo. They’ve always been an unserious organization but just happened to hire the right guy at the right time who was bullheaded enough to make some brief culture shifts. As soon as Lombardi was vulnerable, though, the true nature of the org showed itself and he was excised like a foreign pathogen.

I’ll take the worst Lombardi years 10/10 times over what we have now. At least Lombardi had some kind of vision.

Is there more information because that’s not what that says. It just indicates Clarke is on pp2. Moverare might be sitting? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just can’t draw the same conclusion.
There was another post saying Spence scratched.. cant find it now tho

100%

Dean was vocally against the 'country club' sunset attitude and worked so hard to change it

Only for it to completely reverse to the historical norm once folks who were largely responsible for the lack of heart had their first opportunity to shiv him and reinstall the manhattan beach social volleyball surfing and dog calendar club oh and also we'll play hockey as a hobby too but not too roughly because you don't want to be hurt for beach and golf season

Gutless f***ing organization from top to bottom

One note: I think the Duck's cup win pushed AEG/Lieweakly (then he stopped lying) to really getting serious in fear of them bleeding fans over to ANA.

2nd round drafting is largely a crapshoot in terms of what the players become. However what we did with those assets when they had some value was poor at best.

They certainly handled development badly on several of these guys. The only one they get a pass on for me is Thomas as his shoulders cost him badly in some key development years. He’d have been a good pick otherwise… that said they are currently handling him badly. Just undermining his confidence.
Yeah but if you play the same numbers in craps eventually you will roll a point

It's not real. Washington is this year's Canucks--everything going right and vastly out-resulting their metrics. They'll crash down to normal next year. Like, they can get thru an entire year without Chychrun getting an infected papercut, that alone says how much is going their way.

Gospel!!!

I’m watching On the Fly for like five minutes and just watching all the breakout passes even random ass average dmen are making is depressing

Meanwhile we ice 5 guys a night on D whose typical passes out of the zone have to touch glass and getting ready to trade a guy who can actually move it
