Turns out, a dude that big & strong can impart a lot of leverage on a modern low-flex carbon stick.

I generally don’t get too worked up about guys shots being anemic. It’s so easy to improve.

Plenty of pus-gut losers with the athletic ability of a ham sandwich in my beer league, who have absolute rockets.

If they keep winning games the way they are now without him then they could keep him on IR and load up at the deadline like Vegas did with Stone and Tampa with Kucherov and have him magically healed for game 1 of the playoffs.

100%! I'm already having nightmares about rusty Doughty getting up to NHL speed in January. Going to be some growing pains.

Worth it alone just to lose Burroughs from the roster. Doughty at 30% is still a much better player.

When Drew gets back, I hope they ease him in a bit instead of going straight to 25 minutes a game

I would love to see Gavrikov and Anderson stay together.

I would really love to see what Drew and Clarke do together. Drew has always been one of the top tier defensive defenseman in the league and Clarke’s defensive game has been better than advertised. I would like to see what Drew could do paired with a true offensive puck mover.

That leaves big Edmundson covering Spence’s ass, which I have not been thrilled with the way jordan has been playing lately but I still think he’s young enough to step it up

Moverare stays on as a cheap number seven that can fill in when needed.

We’ve got two extra defenseman that one of them can be traded for a seventh round pick or futures just to get their salaries off the books

Waiving Moverare would be stupid and in fairness Hiller talks fairly highly of him. So I’d be surprised… I think.

I used to think that but Gav and Anderson have become such a great stopper line.

I’m fine going back with Drew and Mikey as a tandem and put Gavrikov with Clarke yes he has more puck moving instincts than Edmundson leaving the big guy with Spence

You have all left shots playing with right shots.

However, it’s been 15 years with Doughty playing with people that have no offensive instinct at all. I know everybody loves Mikey, but he’s one dimensional and thwarts every offensive opportunity we have in the opposition zone by just firing a slap shot somewhere which usually leads to the other team breaking out. I would really love to see a Doughty and (Chychrun) type one of these years just to see what offense it unlocks in Drew. Just figure Clarke would be the closest thing we’ll ever have.

I'm fully in favor of cheating, but I wonder how effective Doughty would be after not playing hockey for so long.

Also, Gavrikov is starting to slip IMO. I wonder if the extra work load is starting to take a toll. He's been making some dopey errors lately.

Yeah he's filled in admirably but has no business playing those sorts of assignments long-term

I really do hope they manage Doughty's minutes well. I always wanted him to get closer to 21, 22...now it's like start him out at 15-18 and build him up, peel everyone else back to 20 at the most.

Drew on the PP is going to make our PP a lot worse than it already is. I kinda dont miss him. Kings have been just fine without him.

Hold Hold HOLD Slapshot into shinpads, retrieves, quick passes from players then doughty gets the puck, slows it down, allows the defending team into get into position, blast off the shinpad one more time, and PP done.
