I dont think trouba's going anywhere. He already refused a trade last yr due to his MD wife being in residency in nyc and as a vet over ten yrs he can refuse (i think)
Lindgren however...

Says a lot about what other franchises think of him if he still hasn't found a job. And yet Blake still felt the need to make him the highest paid coach in the league.

Or he's waiting for the right job. He's making 5 mil this year not coaching, no need to jump at the first few vacancy's. Every year there will be new openings , just wait it out. :nod:

The whole reason Trouba was in NYR anyway was wife related. Can't imagine a world he accepts a trade to a lesser team 100% of the way across the US..and thank goodness for that.

Has a 15 team no trade list. His wife's residency is over soon. Maybe June, read earlier, can't remember. Seems like NY GM is angry.

This sums up the situation pretty well. Trouba sounds like he's trending down hard according to NY fans.

King's could be on his accepted list as they don't have cap space & are in a playoff spot if Trouba is trying to block a trade like he did with Detroit last summer.

There are better options, but who knows what Blake is thinking.

Trouba is a right shot so I don’t think the Kings would be interested. Kreider fits the exact role the Kings need while also not moving them into contender status so that makes more sense for Blake & Luc.

If the Rangers would do *Trouba and Kreider for Fiala and Spence...with them retaining on Trouba.
I wouldn't do this trade, however. Trouba is overrated and takes too many penalties and not a fan of him throwing vicious elbows as a defensive maneuver. Spence is looking like the wrong RHD to have kept, over Durzi, Roy...but couldn't afford Roy.

I think Chytil would be better....not that they would move him...what about Kakko for Kaliyev?
With a Kings 3rd rd to make it more equitable?

* yeah, about his wife's medical career...there are world class hospitals in LA...but I get it.
I don't want Trouba...only if the Kings played the Oilers again in the playoffs and he punked some of their aholes....but the Kings will not be making the playoffs, with a 1 goal Danault, Moore not finding the net and QB playing like he did 2 years ago. Oh, and crappy goaltending and horrid PP.

Wow, just think of it. If we drafted Stutzle, Blake wouldn't have felt the need to trade for a C in PLD.

We could have had Stutzle AND Vilardi right now.

Going to unalive myself
If you have yet to unalive yourself...you may want to now, if you have missed Yannetti's offseason *confession about the 2012 draft.....they were interested in Hellebuyck, but thought he would drop to the late 5th or 6th round, as he had played his draft year in the NAHL...a low league. He thought he would thus fall.
He said they took Prokhorkin in the 4th at 121 and the Jets took Hellebuyck at 130, in the 5th.

Can you imagine if the Kings drafted Hellebuyck? But, since it was 2012 and Quick just got a Cup and in 2014 and signed a 10 yr contract....the Kings would have dealt Hellebuyck for a 3rd round later....Hellebuyck first yr on Jets was 2015-16. I think they stay with Quick and somewhere by 2016, deal Hellebuyck. But, since it was Lombardi at the helm, maybe got something good for him.

* Yannetti said this on a KOTP last time he was on.

I think it's fair at this point to ask 'what will it take" to lose the front office.

-Failed attempt at competitiveness, with the Kovalchuk trade and deployment debacle;
-A 'rebuild' that looked to be going excellent until they got antsy and exited early--which they misdiagnosed becauase the reason it was going well was the kids were playing large roles in vets' absences;
-The trade of a franchise legend for a middling journeyman goalie (yes i know there were more pieces);
-Choosing Petersen in favor of Quick, Kuemper, Campbell or anyone else and locking him to a poisonous contract;
-Subsequent Petersen trade, only to pick up PLD;
-Trading PLD BACK FOR KUEMPER;
-The trade for and handling of Kevin Fiala;
-Now using Kempe as LHD after years and years of not addressing LHD and being completely imbalanced towards RHD until suddenly they blew all the assets and are short on both.

I mean can I go on, I could easily write another two pages on drafting-to-deployment pipeline mistakes...

Gentle reminder

The trade tree starting with the Petersen mistake:

Outgoing
Vilardi
Iafallo
Kupari
MTL 2nd
Durzi
Walker
Grans
Petersen
LA 2nd
PLD

Incoming
2 million+ of Provorov's salary
Hayden Hodgson
Kevin Connauton

AND Kuemper the goalie you traded to start the cycle above

whatever happens or nothing happens to this mess, dj smith is not the answer as head coach. he was a failure in quebec-no winning seasons out of 5. and i noticed kopitar last night giving him the facts on the bench between shifts. didnt appear as a friendly exchange.
as a kid he did attend a french speaking school in river canard ontario so he's got that going for him...

Blake's biggest issue appears to be a lack of a scouting background. He can't evaluate players skill levels. Doesn't understand how they will fit or how much he should pay on a contract. Next GM should have some scouting experience.

Yes, the BLuc experiment should be beyond over for everyone by now.
Including the two remaining boneheads that still somehow think BLuc is doing a good job.

It's time to get rid of guys like DANO, MOORE, FIALA and let's not pretend like they didn't always suck.

XXX - XXX - KEMPE
BYFIELD - KOPITAR - LAFERRIERE
FOEGELE - TURCOTTE - XXX
