You're right that it's not just Ward, but you could see them deflate after that second goal and then the fishing-around thing just extended a brutal shift. That's the kind of stuff that kills a team's fighting spirit and IMO it's been pretty obvious in this period.

I've never felt like we didn't have a chance before the game hearing that Ward was going to be in net. Never. That has changed. Something isn't right here. I don't know if it's physical or mental or a combination of both, but he's just not there. We can't afford it.

But I didn't necessarily mean a coaching change (although that's what happened after the game I mentioned)... just any big change, really.
Him, almost everyone else in management, coaching, and scouting, and at least a third of this team.

Are you originally from here? Because I don't know how the heck else a Heels and Panthers fan could live in California.
Basketball is king here in Orange County and especially in the early 90's when I was kid... Tarheels had crazy national exposure during their championship run and I was hooked... Less interested in b-ball and more into the football program (these days) which always has a few players to cheer for.
Rams left LA right around the panthers came in the league, so it just seemed like a natural fit for me, especially when they got Kevin Greene from the rams.
I plan on seeing chapel hill and Bank of America stadium next year for the first time
