We're far removed from being anything special. Even with a great goalie we are not a cup caliber team.

We're multiple pieces away from being something special, we need a change, a new direction. These small tweaks every year are doing and have done nothing to rectify the situation.

The Leafs need a serious change, a different allocation of salary cap and someone with some god damn CHARACTER.

Samsonov is the worst goalie in the NHL. At this point, I think he may be throwing games on purpose. How can an NHL goaltender be this f***ing bad.

That game went pretty much as expected. Leafs need to get worse and retool before they can get better. We have too many holes to fill and not enough assets to fill them all to really compete this year. It sucks but that’s the reality.

Easy to blame Samsonov for this one, and that's absolutely fair - he was completely horrendous.

But this team is just not good enough end to end. So many mistakes and lazy plays.

Well at least they got a point. As for Samsonov I feel bad for him, but he needs a break and perhaps its time to bring Hildeby up and give him a shot. Don't see why you couldn't and see what he does. Who knows perhaps the goalie solution is sitting right there on the Marlies and we just need to give him a shot.
