To be fair to the "Cult of Eller"

In the Washington Cup win:
He was the 6th scorer (5th forward) in the regular season.
He was the 6th scorer (5th forward) in the playoffs.

What do you think — should someone have taken Orlov to task over that hit? Not fight him but deliver a hard check on him at the first opportunity he has the puck:

Dude, you've gotta stop getting so upset every time someone says something bad about Gallagher. Last game you attacked Carey and this one you attack Slaf.

You can't make people like a player when they don't. Chill, relax.
He’s always attacked Price. He was a regular on PGTs when Price had an off night.

Fight definitely not, as it seemed clean to me. I'd have no problem if one of our forwards would have delivered a hard check or two on him though.

It’s already happening.

Watch how MSL becomes impatient with Martin McGuire of 98.5 FM, who tends to be overbearing:

He's a competitive guy who doesn't like to lose and if his play on the ice is any indication, he can be pretty intense. I can totally see him telling a reporter to **** off at some point.

I like the guy but his job here won't be easy and some people are already turning on him, I hope he knows what he signed up for!

Love Gallagher standing up for Suzuki at the end. All heart!
- Gallagher captain material no doubt.

- I thought Monahan our best player. Going Suzuki/Monahan as 1-2 centers Habs be strong down the middle for many years. Question is do you dare give Monahan a big long term contract? Given his injury history. Way he is playing though, Habs get a first pick in this draft plus a solid prospect for him.

- Slafkovsky needs year in junior, likely year in Laval. Like to see him dominate at those levels. He looks lost at times. Fundamentals aren't there. Could be another Kakko. Looking at long term development. I still would have picked Cooley. Speedy offensive centers hard to come by. He covers so many skill sets. Speed, hands, grit, hockey sense.

- Dach might be decent player but I probably would have picked with those 2 selections. Good players were available and his caproom bring another asset.

- Disagree. Love him nonetheless

- Monahan is gonzo in February 100%.

- Slaf needs to be in the AHL imo.

- Agreed.

Exactly what I meant, hit was clean but a nice clean hit delivered back by a big body would have been nice to see.
I was thinking exactly the same thing during the game. But like you said we are missing that asshole type winger who can play hockey meanly when necessary.

We got a first from Toffoli because he was place in a position to succeed. We need to let Drouin, Hoffman and Dadonov play until they get us a good return. Next year will be the time to get better not now. Not with the kids available in the next draft. Fixing this team now will serve nothing.

Didnt watch the game how was our boy drouin??
Not too bad actually. For a first game in a while. He had a good shift late in the 3rd, with good pace. Curious to see more from him.

Best game by Slaf. TOI shows that too. Loved his lines late in the third, he had great speed in transition. He's getting there. First points against Arizona.

Loved the attitude by Gallagher at the end. Defending his Captain. And showing everyone that losing is not acceptable. With his baldness, he looks like the pocket rocket

I trade Monahan for hopefully a 1st if he plays well. More assets we have the better and we have enough of a logjam for forwards as is. Let the Farrells and Heinemans get their chance.

I also keep Slaf over Cooley. You need maturity to excel in this market being the 1st overall pick in MTL. Slaf seems most mature of the group by far to handle that spotlight, and I also see a higher ceiling with Slaf even if it may be a bumpy ride to get there.

Forgot to mention but we are getting an even better C in 2023 draft. We won't need Cooley

- Monahan is not a 2C and he won’t be here for many years.

- I disagree, Slafkovsky is showing many good things despite who he is playing with. I really like Cooley but him and Slafkovsky won’t bring the same thing to a team in different situations and knowing they’ll draft another skilled forward next summer, i’d rather have a big skilled, good on the boards and forecheck winger in Slafkovsky as a piece in the rebuilt.

- They traded to get a pick so they could get Dach because that’s what Chicago wanted.

It’s not like they wanted a pick and then decided they suddenly wanted Dach with it. All of this revolves around him. No Dach = No pick. So it’s irrelevant to talk about drafting with the pick. He was HuGo’s target for 2C or 1B, not Monahan.
