I wish I could be as optimistic as some in here. 8 of their last 9 is bad…like really bad. The team was finding ways to win, even if they only brought their “B” game earlier in the year. Now they’re finding ways to lose even when they play well. You can tell their confidence is shot.

shame that they booed hall thats a trash move guy give the greatest regular season performance in team history

I couldn’t care less about Hall. Yeah, 2018 was fun and will always be a fond memory. But it was clear he never wanted to be here and he always seemed to carry this aura of angst and bad attitude.

We shouldn’t have gotten so high during the winning streak and now shouldn’t be so low during this period of losing. Before the season we were projected as a bubble team and that’s where we are potentially headed. We’re not the best team in the league and we’re certainly not a lottery team—Calm down errbody!
I feel the winning streak was not a fluke, it was a display of what this team is capable of. We are much better than a bubble team. The team is loaded with talent. Ruff needs to change things up a little and Fitzpatrick might need to pull a small trade in return for grit. We will start scoring again.

Marino and Graves are a big part of our success. We need them back, and I look forward to Palat's return.

It’s a shame to have to analyze goal by goal, but my god what an infuriatingly dumb play by McLeod that gave the Bruins the first goal of the game. You don’t do that shit and who knows how the rest of the game plays out? Instead we have to play from behind from there on until Nico tied it.

Yeah that was mite-esque

I see BrattPack made another dumb tweet that was deleted as well but seen by enough people to screengrab it.

We’re making “friends” of the worst kind these days lol.

I saw it too, second time he's apologized for something recently. It just shows he really doesn't understand how social media works if he thinks that post wasn't gonna get him some blowback.

Best thing to happen was him not RESIGNING here....Shero would have ended up vastly overpaying him....For dodging that one I thank Hall and his shit attitude....but I was at the Philly game when he mocked the fans and for once Devils fans and Flyers fans agreed booing him was the right thing to do....Now it's time to let it go I agree because in the end he cost himself a lot of money.....and saved us from cap hell

I wasn't too happy with Ruff's post-game response on that play.

While he admitted that it wasn't a great play, he was sudo-defending McLeod on that a bit. He said (paraphrasing) "he lost his glove ands was trying to make a play and he kinda just tried to get it out", like gave him the benefit of the doubt. Admittedly, Ruff said didn't have a good look at the play in real time, only after he saw replay.

Mikey is surely, a Ruff favorite, but it was interesting to see him double-down on it. It's not really a surprise to anyone here, for sure, but I was hoping for a "that was a mistake that cost us, Mikey really wants that one back",

Ruff i think was focusing more on the mistake that led to the 2nd goal. (Rightly or wrongly).

Also Ruff was saying he really liked how we played minus those two mistakes (and lack of finishing again by Wood, Bratt, Hughes, Mercer (he casually mentioned those plays/players)

It’s kind of funny how Hall gets booed but people still fall all over themselves fawning over Kovalchuk. Essentially both had one and a half great seasons here at most and I mean both ‘left’ at the end of the day, it’s just that one left for Russia and the other stayed in the NHL.

Kovy was booed when he came back too and Kovy was much more likeable and helped us get to the 12 finals

No offense comments like these reflect more poorly on the poster than the player.

Calling a split second reaction a " dumb play" makes it appear that one has never played hockey - nor any sport.

I'm sure he would have preferred the puck didn't go right to the Bruin but that wasn't the case.

The sequence started with the brutal
PP immediately before the transition. Few on here have alluded to the ensuing turn in momentum.

I'm guessing the people that are booing Hall are also the people that are booing Kovalchuk.

Both of them left and in hindsight it was probably the right thing for the org in both cases. I don't hold anything against either of them and I'm glad we got to enjoy their good seasons while they were here.

I love sports and I like to meme about how much I hate the Rangers and the Saints, but when people hold personal grudges against professional athletes they're taking this shit too seriously.

I get why fans are booing hall (and Kovy). Both left on a source of sour or odd notes (one was verbally, and the other was straight up ninja shock). They still boo'ed the shit outta Kovy when he came here as LA / or Montreal

Hall was visibly calling out fans (with the cupping gesture) and in the post-games earlier, angry at fans reactions when he was playing like crap and then blaming fans for their booing of the him/team when we were in the dumps.

(My opinion, I think as a professional you shouldn't engage in that kind of crap towards your own paying fans of the team. just take the boo's and move on and be a pro). That's what Kovy did when he first came back, he was like "it shows they care, it shows how upset they are, i get it"

Kovalchuk left -- very shockingly, of course -- but he didn't say anything bad about NJ, he just left us out of thin air at a very tough time when we had literally no more forward top 6 guys but Elias. No one as a fan saw that coming and people reacted since he effectively quit on the team. Kovy never bashed NJ or anything, he just left. I understand the anger at a loss as he was a polarizing elite player that a lot of fans turned the corner on him and really started to like him.

Kovalchuk at least help bring us a SCF final in a fairly dominanting fashion. If it weren't for that last series he probably would have had ConnSm, as he was tied in Playoff Points until he entered the SCF.

I think people have more fond memories of Kovy as he was a generally happy spirit on this team,, even after he started off on the wrong foot with the McLean era, fail shootout LOL). Then Lemaire came in and changed everything about his game and he was awesome for us until the last quarter of that final season he left.

Anyway not to derail, just my opinion. (old Kovy/ATL bias here - was my second favorite team).

I was a fan of hall, he probably shouldn't be boo'ed, but he shouldn't have also thrown shade at his own fans.

EDIT: For @NJDevs26 , I know you know this not meaning to inform you of stuff you know, I'm just storytelling on a close topic of mine :)

its funny that both get hated on both guys had positive impacts on the team and gave great memories and then they left. i dont care how they left when they left still doesn't change what they did when they were here. its different if a guy is drafted here groomed here and brought up here only to bounce the first chance he can like gomez or parise.

If you think it wasn't a dumb play to attempt a cross ice pass from your knees in your own zone, I'm not sure what more can be discussed here. Split second reaction or not, it wasn't smart.

The safer play is trying to bang it along the boards where he at least had support from Thompson right next to him. Maybe the Bruins maintain possession and the same result occurs, who knows? Instead he makes the riskier play and it backfired.

It wasn't a pass. He dove and tried to break up a play.

kovy was an absolute beast on this team size speed shot and i think great personality. wasn't afraid to get physical too when he through luke schenn around like a doll. that was a magic run in 12 that he was largely to credit for so he wont get any hate from me. same with hall he gave us the only bright season since 12! how can you go boo the guy?

Are we talking about the same play?

Here's the highlights from last night at the moment McLeod has the puck. He has Thompson right next to him and he's closer to the boards. Whether he's trying to clear the zone or get it to Wood, he had much safer/preferable options from where he was. And attempting to do this from your knees, you lose a ton of strength to get any steam on the puck from that position.

I get it, it's easier to analyze things from far away and after the fact. It doesn't change the fact that he made the riskier play and it resulted in a more dangerous scoring chance that was converted. If he keeps it along the boards where he has Thompson as well, you hope he can help to push the puck out.

Just because it was a “split second reaction” doesn’t mean it wasn’t an absolutely dumb play. Throwing the puck weakly up the center of the ice with no one but Bruins around, especially in the defensive zone, is never a good play.

What an insane statement.

I certainly don't find booing someone when they have the puck a personal grudge, it's just something sports fans do, it's not like people are out egging his house every night and slitting his tires lol
