Except he wasn't. 2 times a game isn't getting beat up.

Frank Gore gets beat up.

Have you even watched the Colts the last few seasons, or just looking up stats online? Getting "sacked" 2 times a game doesn't mean here wasn't touched the rest of the game. The dude got pummelled for years, and that takes a toll on ones body, mentally and physically.

Also Luck also has himself to blame for some of the abuse

We saw him plenty of times not slide or go out of bounds and lower his shoulder into defenders to get an extra yard , etc

Still crazy this is real.

This is one of those moments where you remember where you were when the bomb dropped.

Retires at the age of 29 probably due to the mental stuff as much as the physical listed above and a bunch of the home fans boo him off the field. Yeah, he made the right decision.

This is ridiculous. He was pressured the most of any QB since he entered the league.

Why are people so quick to side with the owners? It's so weird.

And let's not forget that he went to Europe for experimental treatment to try to get back into game form and very obviously was dealing with PTSD or similar issues to try get his head back as well.

But no, he doesn't have a love of the game to some...

Who is siding with owners here?

And if he was thinking of this for a while then he really should have done it long ago not on eve of season. That isn't siding with ownership as he put franchise/team in bad spot here

The colts didn't protect him, thats why these injuries built up.

The sack argument is garbage. Let's look at the total QB hits and have a conversation about that.

Fair enough.

It just seems odd that he's bowing out now right when they have built the best supporting cast of his career around him.

Also, he can make the decision whenever he wants but it seems a little messed up to lay this news on them a couple of weeks before the season starts. I highly doubt this decision was made without much deliberation, should have done it sooner to give the team more time to prepare for it IMO.

It coming this late is probably the biggest clue as to how hard the decision was.

Who is siding with owners? I am just pointing out he doesn't love football. Pressures are one thing, Russell Wilson gets beat up more. RB's get beat up more. WR's get beat up more. He just doesn't like football anymore.

He's made millions and shouldn't play if he doesn't like it anymore. More respect for him that he's leaving.
