One of the major reason we won the cup. that guy was all about TEAM and knew how to bring players together.

plus without the finger it wouldn't have been the same. That was the moment I knew we were winning the cup that year.

Beauty of a player! Heart and soul guy. Another player who was vital in winning the cup.

Saluting the Bell Centre was an all-time moment in Bruins history imo.

Excellent player (real team guy) and person.

Must be some place in the B's organization we could employ him.

I would love to see him as one of the Assistant coaches.

I love his energy.

He's coming to one of our sports banquets with Laraque & Debrusk. I'll be going and bringing a photo of him flipping off the Bell Center to sign.

Didn't he maintain a home in Boston?

Sad to see his career end this way, he was a great (and underrated) Bruin.

I would imagine he won't have trouble finding a job in the game somewhere if he wants it.

"And that's enough for Andrew Ference"

He was also a hard liner with the NHLPA during the lockout for those that don't recall.

Net-net even with that, is he appears to be a really good person, team-mate and human being so props to that and good luck in retirement - sure he'll have plenty of work lined up.

This times 100. Give him Pandawful's job.

Ference has had a great long career (and has been injury plagued for the last 6-7 years) probably a good time to call it quits.

We really need to get one of the character older guys from 2011 back in the organization somehow. Recchi/Thornton/Ference are seriously missed.

Flipped off Habs fans, squeegeed the ice with a turtleing Subban, started the line brawl in '11 by taking on Moen, and would jump guys 3 times his size to come to the aid of a teammate. He should have the spoked B tattooed on his chest.

Come back to the North End, Andy! You can ride your silly bike to your new job with the Bruins.

Especially with the word the Thornton is likely to remain in Florida and learn about the business side when he's done playing, not getting Ference into the organization when he's officially done is a huge miss by management, IMO.

Guy bleeds black and gold, took the city like few other players have, and would bring character and credibility. They need to make it happen.

He was the modern day version of C.Kelly, but I loved his time as a Bruin.

Dude fought Crosby, pissed off Hab fans and was a key player in our cup run.

:yo:

The lockout is frustrating to fans, but you shouldn't be foolish enough to pick a side of owners vs. players. They're both the same in my book: fighting for as much money as possible. Ultimately, the owners have the most power. You have a union to try to balance that out. I'm not going to go blaming one side for such a thing any more than I blame the other.

So, no. I don't hold Ference being a "hardliner" during the lockout against him.

He's got it on his inner bicep, is that close enough?

He's got one more year on his contract, but will likely fail his physical and be put on LTIR. After the end of the year, he'll likely retire. That's when I hope he comes back to the Bs.
