It’s real simple, Vasy finds his game or the Lightning are toast. The team played much better today but Vassy absolutely sucked. He’s supposed to be the trump card, not a liability. He deserves the benefit of the doubt when it matters but if he doesn’t find it in playoffs he loses the throne.

To who? Kuemper? Cause Vasy has two cups and has been the best goalie for roughly the last 5 seasons. Spare me about consolation trophies for goalies like MAF. When Igor wins a CS and a cup, then we can talk dethrone. The standard for #1 isn't make it to finals or win it every year. Which, is what vasy has done the last 3. He's still the best. Players can have a down year. I'll give him that pass because he's deserved it.

True, if Vasy doesn't have his A game in the playoffs we might not even win a series. But even if he does have his A+ game, it's going to be more difficult with this year's blueline. Eyssimont is a welcome addition to the fourth line, but it's still not where it was last year either.

Based on the post above with the sv% analysis, we absolutely MUST clear the crease. That's pretty basic hockey stuff, but we focus on that it will dramatically reduce goals against.

The last month every type shot has been getting past Vasy. His confidence has taken a hit this year. He has one shutout in the past he would have 4 by this be point. He plays well in sections of the game and then looks to be scrambling. A good portion of this is coming from the defense in front of him. We have no confidence in the D and it has to be effecting him. He is overplaying a good amount of the time trying to make up for mistakes in front of him. The D are giving up mutiple chances every game heck they PP has been plagued by shorties against. While the offense plays a priemiter game most of the time Vasy continues to face too many odd man rushes every game. When the offense has made a comeback like against the Knights they just collapse trying not to lose the game instead of a CB killer instinct like the last few years. The entire team too to bottom is having issues now. The coaching staff have yet to fix one area of the game much less address mutiple areas. It he looming series with the Leafs is concerning, we can only hope the Leafs do Leaf things and we can bounce them in the 1st round. Heck Montreal did it to them a couple years ago.

His one shutout was a masterpiece.

I'm not sure why the caption on the graphic talks about how good Vasy has been, since those numbers would lead you to believe he's been average at best.

Vasy used to struggle with rebound control and pucks getting away from him in the crease. This year and last he has gone through periods of giving up softies, or semi-softies, on pretty straightforward shots. Last game was a good example -- on their own, none of those goals are overly egregious, but giving up all four of them, on like 20 shots total, is something that's been happening a little too often in the past two years.

He had some stellar games last year in the playoffs, but there were stinkers too. Not sure what's going on, but it's been a minute since he was consistently playing better than the best goalies in the league.

Vas has been very hot and cold this season. One game he wills us to a win when everybody else takes the night off and the other game he lets in beach balls in close games that we should win with ease.

He's been in position to have like 3 or 4 more shutouts but the team would have massive brainfarts to piss them away.

I want to see how he does in the playoffs this year but I don't like the last two seasons trajectory. Maybe he just needs a little break or something.

It's obvious the players still don't think Igor is better.

Vasy is underappeciated and is getting in playoff mode. Time for the boys to get the band back to making bangers and show ready.
