Value of: Andrei Svechnikov

lol Habs fans are hilarious they want svechnikov and they’ll get upset if you ask for their good players
You have to realize youre not getting full value for a guy that hasnt had one healthy season since 2018-2019 and is currently on pace for 55 points.

Love the player, but hes not the player you drafted in 2018.

I'd easily ship out Beniers and Montour or Dunn and a few other picks for Svech. Doubt that's what Carolina wants but uh...*looks at the Seattle Roster* that's what we got!

We really, really, really need to fill a RW spot in the top six in Ottawa.

Unfortunately don’t have the assets to acquire Svech but he would fit nicely on the Sens.

Giroux ain’t cutting it.

Canes bow out again early in the playoffs and a guy like Svechnikov could be on the move. That’s a core that needs to have some playoff success.,

Then why trade him if his perceived value is so “low”?

Try to think before you post
Because hes playing 3rd line minutes and not being very succesful and you have a pretty uneven roster, and havent really had success in the last 3-4 years. Maybe you want to shake it up? Use him to bolster another spot?

Using this logic I guess Guhle is a cap dump. How many draft picks would you package with Guhle to get rid of him since he is never healthy?

A misguided Canes’ fan.

They’re not going to trade Svechnikov for a managerienof futures. No, he’s likely not pulling a Demidov or similar asset, but the Canes have no reason at all to sell low on him, especially with all the smurfs they have up front.

Guhle is amazing when hes on the ice though, hes playing like a true #1.

Pretty unlucky injuries too.

Has Svechnikov been a stud on that level?

I also never suggested Svechnikovs value is this low, its just not Suzuki, Hutson, Demidov. Id entertain something around any other players. Maybe not Guhle.

Well thats fine, I think his value is somewhere around what Necas and Cozens, no?

Okay but I literally don’t get why Carolina fans think they’d get Demidov/Hutson/Suzuki for an underperforming and injury prone winger.
It's always like this here

But then when trades happen the value is like 40% of what the average fan here thinks

Especially wingers

Filter NHL.com for all RWs who've played more than 20 games this year and Svetchnikov is 25th in points per game despite having a down year.

The narratives that I'm seeing here to try to paint him as a cap dump is just bs. His 7.8m contract might be a wee bit high but not by much, maybe a million too much.

I see him as a 2 firsts value player, likely even higher than that. Anyone saying that Carolina has to sell low on him is either misinformed, naive, or silly.

We are like the richest franchise assets wise.

Dylan Cozens is a good comparable for Svechnikov? His 5v5 points this year are dreadful, youre not dealing from a position of strength.
Cozens is no where close to a comparable to Svechnikov

The roster has already experienced significant turnover. 9 (!) of the 18 skaters from the 2024 playoff lineup are elsewhere.

A shakeup trade is unwarranted. There won’t be a cap related motivation either; there’s a copious amount of space available.

OP, from what I saw in the Nadeau thread, is penciling in Blake on the top line full-time before seeing how a small line like that performs in the playoffs. The mock 2nd line was Hall - Kotkaniemi - Stankoven. I don’t think so.
