I want this kid to just marinate in the AHL. He's gotten a few early tastes in Boston. First year, he was good until he got hurt. This year, he's been good but just not productive. Let him play in the AHL for the rest of the season, produce points, find confidence, get a little stronger while learning the game against men, and let him come into next season ready to go.

Too early to tell. Donato has a great shot and some good puck skills. That play where he went around the goalie last night and put it in the crease was nice.

Either one of these guys could flame out and never realize their potential. Right now I’m favoring Donato because he’s playing with more urgency and tenacity and he isn’t afraid to shoot.

Bjork is more of a playmaker, put him in the top 6 if you want to see his potential IMO.

There’s room for both of them as long as they continue to improve. Donato shows some jam playing with JFK and Heinen. Bjork has impressed since his move to Providence.

I see him on RW with either Bergy or DK when he completes his tutelage in RI.

Prefer Bjork over Donato or Heinen. I only move him in a deal for a serious top 6 upgrade. Time to recall Bjork and send Cave down.

One of the things I loved about Bjork when he was drafted is his attitude and personality. He’s just one of those people that gets it. Reminds me of one of my childhood best friends who also happened to play hockey, he just had a quiet intelligence about everything and knew how to take things I stride and just get it done in the end.

Pretty cool he also happens to have excellent offensive skills :naughty:

He and Donato need to play together in Providence. But if I had the choice Bjork should be in Boston and Donato Providence. Donato really needs to improve is skating.

ok I get it and Bjork is not or not yet at Marchand level

but has Leach seen Marchand play?

He is twisting all over the place at times confusing even himself

But he also gets the other team dizzy/scrambling

It seems like unless you are Marchand, Pasta, Bergeron, Krejci.... you better stick to a simple (and often predictable) game

unfortunately there is only so much a guy can improve their skating

Michael Ryder never could. David Backes hasn't really been able to

Donato would have done better 10-15 years ago
