Bjork has NHL speed - plus speed

He steps in as an above NHL skater

He also has played up and down the lineup and on both wings - very versatile

Ryan Hardy I'm sure is a great source here

It will be interesting to see him play in WC

My 'understanding' is this situation is 180 degrees different from Vesey for obvious reasons

They were rumored very close recently to a signing and they have an excellent relationship and can talk any time

Bjork is not an outsider he's a Boston Bruins draft pick who's been to multiple DC here and has met with Boston personnel after games

HF posters control their own thoughts but this is actual reality not concocted

There will be no indepth selling or get to know meeting - that is not an issue

And when Anders Bjork watched last nights game he was watching guys he lived with at both Bruins DC and USA hockey

The WC is a nice stage to see him on if he plays - it's got top end talent and the stakes are high

Boston will be watching

excellent post

Some things I read a few times on the Vesey front lead me to believe or feel like the Preds seemed to be pressuring him too much rather respect the kid`s space, let him know he`s valued within the organization but let him know when he`s ready to jump on board, they`ll be waiting for him. I really got the impression that the Preds just pushed too hard

I don`t get that sense with Sweeney and his crew. I haven`t gotten any impression or feeling that Bjork will do anything other than sign with the Bruins. No clue when but it will happen, feels to me like Sweeney are Co are approaching him with respect and allowing for he and his family to make decisions without feeling pressured

Agreed. I got the same sense, mine coming from Poile's ill-advised comments to the media after learning Vesey wasn't signing. Just bad vibes.

If Bjork exercises his rights and goes UFA, I don't see the Bruins making those comments. Seems they have a lot of respect for the kid.

When does this world championship end? I will be watching closely to see if bjork signs after. Making me nervous that there were a number of people saying it was a done deal and he may even get in some games at the end of the year/playoffs then all of a sudden he was turning the contract down to go to worlds. Seems like we could have used him in playoffs...hoping he doesn't vesey us

I just feel like hes decided to go back to college and hes gonna **** us and bail. But at the same time, if he was gonna go back to College im sure he/his agent would have just said that by now. So maybe there is hope

'Feelings nothing more than feelings....'

Take it 'For What it's Worth' and read my post a few days on this

The thought of Bjork here does 'Light Up My Life'

Let's review

Feelings - hated that song more than Ulf Samuelson

You Light Up My Life- hated that song but if Debbie Boone would have taken my virginity it could have played on an endless loop in the background (who am I kidding I wouldn't have made it past 'you Light Up....'

For Whst It's Worth- Stills & Young the equivalent of Hull & Oates

No other poster on these boards cracks me up like you, hope you never stop bringing the humour.

I was listening to that schmuck Adam Jones last night and they think this kid will be Vesey V2 and will play out his college career and be free to sign anywhere.

What at are the odds?

Two teams in the playoffs. I turn on EEI over the weekend and all Rob 'Fred Flintstone' Bradford can talk about is freakin' Brady and his charities. I wanted to rip my radio out of my car to ensure that I never switch to that station again!

OT, Boston Sports Radio is going down the tubes. WEEI continues to be terrible, and The Sports Hub is being overrun with trolls who always take the low road with negativity hot sports takes.

He's definitely going back to school. He has a very close family connection to Notre Dame and has community ties as well (see the volunteer work he is doing at a local school). Combine that with the chance at playing in the Olympics and I can't blame him really. He is also only 20 years old I believe, a young senior at 21. What he does after all that is anyone's guess, but it appears that the relationship between him and the B's is strong. I think we will see his agents true colors if he does decide to go UFA. Then that will be Vesey and Bjork that he has steered away from the Bruins.

This was me on my way to Game 6 for the Bs. My cousin called in and asked if they could talk about hockey cause they wouldnt stop with the Brady charity stuff.

Anyways. We'll see what this kid does. Im not worried yet.

Not completely convinced he's going back to school.

I think the Bruins will wait until the WCs are over, until he's done with school, give him a chance to decompress, and approach him again in the summer.

He's played for 5 teams this year. BU, Juniors, PB, Bruins and now team usa. Every team as the #1 or close to it. That type of enviroment and growth/experience in a year can be a huge confidence boost that carries effects over an entire career. There is having the skill and then knowing you have the skill.

Bjork told the Bruins he will have a decision about turning pro after the WC. Stay tuned!

http://www.csnne.com/boston-bruins/...ton-bruins-decision-after-world-championships

That`s what I suspected and posted earlier in this or another thread and Gator Mike also mentioned

I`m a fan who actually appreciates Sweeney and his approach with this, it appears as though he (or whomever typically is the go between for NCAA prospects) tries to communicate with the prospects that the B`s value their skills and would love to add them but when they feel they are ready to leave school. It sounds like Sweeney is trying to NOT put unnecessary pressure on a kid.

You can sell the opportunity without making a prospect or their family feel like they are being backed into a corner and I think DS`s approach is wise and I still have no concern Bjork is not going to sign here
