Hopefully the team feels that they win and lose as a team. Don't want them blaming 2 or 3 guys. They were all junk tonight. But, it matters not until the playoffs start.

how has he still not figured out how to block the pass on a 2-on-1? I mean I don't expect him to be as good as Brodie at it but come on

Rielly has certainly not earned the benefit of the doubt by repeatedly being unable to defend any kind of 2 on 1 situation, but the spacing of Tkachuk Norris and the speed the counter attack was coming at there wasn't that much to be done other than miraculously cutting off that cross ice pass.

Dubas effortlessly rid ourselves of any sports agent shame of a contract from a seventh round sub talent, in one game.

Masterful stuff Dubas.

If i see andersen anywhere around the net or crease.

Well.......

Ottawa seems to have two modes, avenge their 2000s playoff losses to the Leafs via exaggerated gritty regular season play and rolling over to help McDavid reach his scoring title goals. Truly bizarre franchise.

Same thing with Buffalo and Vancouver. They only show up against the Leafs, especially on national broadcasts.

That was hard to watch. Matthews tacking on another was nice to put us to overtime. Marner deal was a blind back pass in overtime in your own zone. Yeah it’s stupid as f***

Marner has to be more smarter and less fancy

This aspect of his game he can learn from a Foligno. Probably Nash as well. Make the smart, low risk play in your end. Know when to curl and when to dump.

The Matthews goal showed Folignos value. Held the zone along the boards, dump in pass, eventually to Matthews for the finish.

Smart, simple, win the battle for a goal playoff type decision.

Marner is one creative guy, you don't want to discourage that aspect. In his own end in OT? He has made such mistakes before. You can cost yourself a Cup if you do it at the wrong time.

Clearly the guys didn't have a lot of interest in putting in an honest effort for their goalie.

Considering Andersen was out for 7 weeks, thought he was fine. Some strange bounces and plays around him.

There were only about 5 guys who played to win that one. Rielly and Marner were not on that list.

Nothing game. Doesn't matter, but looks kinda sad when pros can't bring at least a solid effort.
What's funny is the Muzzin pregame interview he said all the right things. What the team needs to continue doing, what they need to stop. And then, not one single player played that way.

Yeah there wasn't much to be done there with that horrific Marner turnover. A smarter defender may be able to handle it, but it's unfair to expect it

Nothing can be taken away from this game aside from Freddie - while not at total fault does not look like a starting goalie. His body language is meek and small. I let him be the back up. Nothing more.

Just get through the Jets game.

The Montreal series will say a lot about whether we are going play a lot of hockey or watch from the sidelines. Not just whether we win - but how.

Meh. Worth it for the Matthews goal.

The team was clearly not particularly interested in this, and was probably one of the most important games for that Sens team recently for them
