- The eye-tracking interface and hand gestures are amazingly intuitive - Strong agree, it works incredibly well. One of the coolest parts of the demo is calibrating the hand/eye tracking. It's almost like a game and it didn't require any instructions. It picks up extremely subtle hand gestures and it doesn't really matter where you're holding your hands. The eye tracking is extremely precise.
- Spatial computing takes multitasking to the next level - Not sure about this. They don't let you pair it to a Mac in the in-store demo so I mostly watched videos/looked at pictures. I would like to try it with a Mac for sure because using it with a physical keyboard will be necessary to type efficiently.
- Awesome movie experience — especially in 3D — and Immersive video - Yes, 100%. During the demo, they have you use a "theater mode" and it feels like you're literally in a movie theater with surround sound. I was sitting in one of the busiest Apple Stores in the world and the real world totally disappeared when I was in theater mode.
- Impressive spatial photos and videos (and panoramas) - Yeah, these are very cool. They have you watch a few clips, some recorded with the latest iPhone and some recorded with the headset. It feels like re-living a memory to a degree, especially the ones recorded with the headset.
- Works with your MacBook like frickin' magic - Not sure, would like to test this out.
- Compelling AR apps and experiences - The only app I used outside of photos/videos was a web browser briefly and a game. Both were cool but I would like to see what other third party apps are out there.
It is pretty bulky but not uncomfortable. I used it with the solo band, not the one that goes around your head
and over your head, which doesn't look as cool but I've heard is more comfortable. Granted, I only used it for 30 minutes so I'm not sure how it would feel to wear it for an extended period of time.
One of the coolest parts of the immersive video demo was watching an MLB game from dugout view. It's going to be awesome for sports.
