I don’t particularly care for soccer and that second half was f***in fire. Mbappe is insane
Fútbol is a bit lower on my list of sports to watch as well. Not a fan of Premier league or MLS. The World Cup is a different beast though when they play for the flag instead of the club team.

I would highly recommend to you or anyone else to check out a Detroit City Futbol match. That is, by far, the best atmosphere of any sporting event. DCFC fans make The Children of Yost look drugged and stuperous.

Have you ever been to a Premier league or MLS game?

I went to a Chicago Fire game at Soldier Field which was decent. It didn't have anywhere near the atmosphere of a DCFC match, though In general, I prefer amateur or international competition to pro sports. I'd rather go to a game at the Yost or USA Hockey arena than a Wings game, college football over the snoozefest of the NFL, etc.

If you have any recommendations to make me a convert, I'm listening (attending a Premier match is a bit of a trick, though).

MLS is/was fun. I had Fire season tickets for 3 years. Unfortunately the FO always had an antagonistic relationship with fans and made many stupid decisions along the way.

I have been to games in US, Canada, Mexico, Iceland, Netherlands and Serbia. Lots of smoke, fire, explosives and Roman candles in Serbia.

Stoked for tomorrow. Headed into Detroit for John K. King Books and Wings!

Eastern Michigan playin a bowl game against the only team they've ever beat in a bowl today at 3:30p.

Stupid midweek bowl game. I'd have 100% flown to Idaho for this if it wasn't squarely in a week I can't miss.

My dudes, santa brought a nintendo switch to me early this christmas. Who wants to trade pokemon?

I'm just bummed you haven't found the thread I name dropped you in. I figured you had your bat signal attuned to any mention of this player and would have been stumbling over your keyboard to post in said thread.

Did the thread involve pokemon?

My younger beagle spent his morning doing his best imitation of the Bumpus's dogs in A Christmas Story. We were unwrapping presents when he managed to get up and get half a plate of sausage patties. He got corralled out of the kitchen, scolded, and as soon as we turned our backs he managed to get over the baby gate, back into the kitchen, and open the oven (it wasn't on at the time, but I had stuck the rest of breakfast in there).

Maybe if you wouldn't feed him from the table...

No, no, he's probably just nosing through the trash there.

Soccer sucks big time in many ways. I strongly recommend to stay away from soccer.

They have more or less just quarreled about the politics and some other stupid stuff.

I watch soccer just every 4th year at world cup. Then we go out watching soccer together at big events, drinking beers, talk and have fun in general. But soccer is boring and it is very corrupted.

I got a corgi that knows damn well what to do with a wrapped present that's hers, it's amusing. She got her blue dragon 7.0, destroys every one to just an eventual head, the thing starts out at 18 inches. Then it's a half day of depression when I throw out the spit crusted head until the new dragon is accepted. It's an endless cycle, she's only 3.

I got a bunch of books and comic books for Christmas, some clothes, and a few board games. Me and the wife don't have kids, but our nieces and nephews lived with us for years, and now are about 20 mins away, so we try to go big for them each year and it's a good time.

Hope everyone else's holiday went well!

That's great about the dog. Every gift on Christmas day in my house is also a gift for my dog. Dude is 13 years old, losing eyesight and hearing, but he is as obsessed with wrapping paper as he's ever been. Every gift that gets opened, he's right there, insisting that the wrapping paper be balled up and thrown across the house so he can chase it like he's a puppy again. Kind of annoying, but always good to see.... some part of him will never get old lol.

Wife and I got each other the exact same gift... tickets to John Oliver this week. Guess that was bound to happen eventually, especially after deciding a few years ago we'd try to make gifts more experience-based rather than material things.

My sister got me a sick portable monitor, 15.6" It's not a laptop, just a portable display device. But for a switch or my work laptop, it's well appreciated.
