You’re gonna catch THESE elbows.

…and yeah, there’s better boxed Mac and cheese, but Kraft Mac takes me back to simpler days when we were unaware all the dye and preservatives in our food was bad for us.
In terms of mac 'n cheese, I was upper lower-class as a kid. Never really liked the elbows. My mom would get the elbows, and I'd demand she march right back to the store and get the Three Cheese variety. Far superior. I had standards, damn it.

She would never march back to the store though, she'd just be all like, "yes, honey, I know that's your favorite, I looked for it but they were out." I still don't believe her. I think she hated me :(

Yeah, she probably did. My mom would get me the kraft dinos because she loved me.

My mom made velveeta shells and cheese with broccoli florets mixed in. That is still a clutch meal. It was what I chose for my birthday meal this past year. They gave us fresh vegetables pureed into baby food when we were infants, so my family all freaking love vegetables.

Also, when you're an adult and you can get brussel's sprouts actually grilled and seasoned right? Those things are legit tasty.

If you still live in Michigan (I'm certain some of this board is) go to One Eyed Betty's in Ferndale. They made the best crispy brussel sprouts tossed in olive oil and balsamic vinager. It's been almost 8 years since I moved away and I still haven't found brussel sprouts as good as theirs.

Yep, it's another great example of a food that's really good when done right, but turns a lot of people off because of how it's typically (poorly) done.

I couldn't stand them as a kid, but now we cut them in half and roast them in the oven, using garlic and grape seed oil with additional seasoning, and they're fantastic.

Also, to Mo, I'll see you at Kura. I've mainly been to the Troy location but now Novi has one. I bet I can beat Mo in a sushi eating contest.

Done it. And yes.

I also think they have oversized Jenga. Or at least some place did and I killed it

I'm convinced a large portion of people only ever steamed or boiled their veggies, and that's why they hate them. Just like all food, if you season them right and cook them right (bake, grilled, broiled) they taste amazing.

Lots of boujie ass people in this thread dunking on Kraft Mac and Cheese. Like someone just saying hotdogs is a God tier answer. Get outta here with that nonsense. Straight Chicken Pasta? Garbo. You gotta zhuzh that shizz up. Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup? Basic.

Kraft Mac and Cheese has far too long (one day) been dismissed as lesser. Kraft Mac and Cheese is delicious, way more affordable, and has NEVER been recalled. Having a "better" alternative does NOT make a choice irrelevant (slams podium). Ask not what your mac and cheese can do for you, but ask, what can you, do for your country.
And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:
"We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
We're going to live on!
We're going to survive!"
Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

Ok, man, christ in a boiling pot, you've turned me back on to Kraft mac n' cheese. I'll die for it at this point.

Clearly my opponent is taking the low-hanging fruit, and playing on people's emotions rather than sticking to the facts.

Homemade Mac and cheese:
* Has fewer artificial ingredients.
* Is fresher.
* Fosters culinary creativity.
* Above all, simply TASTES BETTER.

Red Wings fans, you deserve better than store bought boxed ingredients from dusty shelves! Treat yourselves to a quality meal and opt for the best!

What is the betting science books use to determine what NHL games have a To Score bet? Noticing that no options exist for Wings games and some others but others have the option.

To my dear friend @Konnan511

I write to you from Anchorage where the tindering and bumbling is dreadful, the popcorn salty and the whiskey is fiery.

The mountain views are magnificent and I’m told that the methamphetamines are the best in all the land due to being cooked with the purest of glacial water blessed by native shamans. Even better than Florida’s I’m told, though I must admit to not having a reference point as I still have all my teeth and have never tried the stuffs myself.
I hope all is well in Florida and that your back yard alligators weren’t eaten by sharks blown inland by Ian.

Most sincerely,
Ogee

Ps: f*** chilis.

Move a couple feet to the right or left in the aisle with the Kraft. Get the bright yellow box with the red Velveeta emblazoned on it.

Instead of $0.50, you pay $2.99 or less if it’s on sale. And you’re greeted with just a far superior Mac and cheese out of box experience.

Is it f***in terrible for you? Yup
Should you probably make some other dinner choice on a daily basis? Yup.

But the cheese in the foil pack > the cheese dust that you dump water or milk onto.

You speak wisdom.

This is what I grew up with and wasn't familiar with the Kraft style Mac until I was an adult.

and it would blow my kid's weekly lunch budget from three bucks to twenty.

Are you pricing this by weight? Those shells boxes look bigger to me. I haven't done the math, and it's more expensive, but I suspect it's not over 6 times more per gram/ounce.

the weight/serving size doesn't matter with kids. A box is lunch. They don't finish it, maybe I can pawn leftovers off on the two year old, but older kids won't eat reheated mac and cheese, and I don't really blame them. If it's a week where the 8 yr old isn't crushing the chicken alfredo, they'll go through a box of mac and cheese a day.

Now the 8 yr old has just developed a taste for cheese burgers, though, and is trying to convince me to make a cheeseburger for breakfast every day.
