The opponent was piss poor though. Let's wait for some real match and do the same. Then we can talk about comeback. Win is nice..
You can only play who is in front of you, the points count the same as beating a contender. Ultimately, we need to turn this season around and if we have to take advantage of Anaheim and/or San Jose to do so, then so be it. We did what we needed to win. That's the important take away. We could easily have just given up down 0-2, or when they tied it up late in the game but we didn't. These are the things you need to do to bust out of a slump.

Edit: And had it not been for their goalie we would have cruised to a 5-2 win in all likelihood.

Rantanen gets a primary assist while not even being on the ice when the goal is scored. He's that damn good. 14.5 millions.

This was a statement game by the Avs. When they get healthy they're not gonna be an easy win. Even contenders like Edmonton or Vancouver are going to have to skate hard to beat the Avs.

Playing in Denver isn't going to be an easy 2 points and a night off for visiting teams this season.

If the Avs can build some positive momentum by staying competitive in most games the playoffs are a legitimate possibility next season.

There's still time to spell Georgiev properly
Oh f***.

Edit. I fixed it. Can't believe I did that.

I just can’t stand it when Georgiev can’t secure the goddamned puck. Way too many times a better goalie would just catch it or fall on it and freeze it, but with him it turns into a goalmouth scramble and he almost always lets one in when that happens.
Another aspect of his goaltending that frustrates the hell out of me. He has no idea where the puck is when it's at his feet.

That's vision...like lack of the peripheral type.

Really liked Mack, Makar, Colton, Kovy, Malinski and the rest were more or less ok too. Reffing was excellent apart of that missed trip on Rantanen. I don't like how the opponent is very often able to slide and stickhandle into the front of the net, otherwise the coverage was pretty decent.
They consistently beat the Ducks to the puck in the Avs defensive zone. That's been a rare to non-existent feature of this team this season.

In other words they were moving their feet and not sitting back in terror of what Georgiev was about to let in the net.

Solid win, great team play, but not comforted that we won in spite of Georgiev. He needs a solid game and he was bad again.

Great to see our non-star guys getting it going.

Also— Cale needed this one. He was himself at last.

I still think Ivan deserves more than 6-8 minutes a night, he’s been good even if not scoring.
He's better than Kelly even if Kelly had his best game of the season last night.

Kelly played 16 minutes. Even with a depleted lineup Bednar detests playing his 4th line. It's like the guy believes hockey should only be 3 lines.

Georgiev was good last night. The only legit goal he gave up was about the same shot Colton scored on everybody's new boy toy Dostal - twice. The other 2 were oddball flukes. I saw the ref blow the puck dead on Dostal for less control the AG had on goal 1.

AG the has not been good, obviously. But last night he was not the reason they scored 3. And he saved the OT a couple of times.

The difference between the Colton goals and the Terry goal is movement. Both Colton goals are one timers from the slot uncontested. Most dangerous area of the ice.

Terry skates the puck to the dot and fires, with no screen, and beats Georgiev clean. Good shot? Sure. Bad goaltending? Also yes.

The 2nd goal was just laughably pathetic, too. He is the one who causes mad scrambles in front because he can't catch pucks and can't punch them away from traffic areas.

The Avs won in spite of him.

It's really f***ing sad that our first win was a 49-20 shots on goal domination. That we eeked out a 4-3 OT win because our shit bag goalie couldn't be bothered to make a handful of saves.

This is really depressing. We have to play practically perfect to barely win at home against one of the worst teams in the league all because we can't make basic save

Our guys played a heck of a game yesterday. Dostal was the reason why the game was so close.

I enjoyed what the guys did yesterday. Hope we see more of that.

It's funny, your reputation has me thinking everything you say is filled with sarcasm. Not sure if this post was too, lol.

And then when they gave him the best 4th line in Avs history, he played it as the 3rd line
