He wasn't expected to play in all of them to start. He was supposed to get spot duty. Instead Regher has been injured and Voynov's a tard and he's had to play in every game. Nobody could have predicted our entire second pairing would be shelved 15 games in.

The Kings did not give up what they gave up to have a player that looks like this.

You can't expect to be a contending team when you have a d-man who can't take off the training wheels, even if everyone comes back injuries happen in the playoffs, is this a player you want in a series against Anaheim or Chicago?

I'm not a fan of McNabb and wasn't when we traded for him and a lot of posters were convinced he was gonna step in and be a potential Top 4 guy (he's not). But you could've said this about Muzzin in the first half of last season too, so.

What other choice do we have, really? :help:

People keep reffering to Muzzin . Did people forget that Muzzins rookie year he was right behind doughty for production from defenders and only tailed off when the year ended.

Muzzin was nails to start his rookie year. He looked like he belonged in the NHL.

Must remember: First game since we sent them golfing. They're playing their little hearts out. Glad to see us keeping them under control. We've stopped a lot of chances. Pull it off for one more period and we walk away with a big 2 points.

Herby, McNabb is currently paired with Jamie McBain as an actual defensive pairing. He is going to get lit up. By no means does this mean he's a failure yet.

Remember, Jake Muzzin.

Muzzin was not this bad.

Muzzin made glaring mistakes, no doubt about it. But you could see the flashes. McNabb on the other hand is just getting dominated shift after shift.

I'm not writing his career off, but he has been a huge disappointment and I don't trust him to play in the playoffs, he is a #8 d-man at this point. And I can guarantee you the Kings didn't give up what they did for a guy who isn't even NHL ready.

Oh also, McBain is literally pure ****. I hope this Voynov situation gets settled soon because he belongs absolutely nowhere near an NHL lineup. This is nothing compared to the dumpster fire he was before he got here.

Who misses Regher?

I see some hands raised.

Think we all do.

McNabb's absolutely got flashes as well, but they're going to be much rarer on a temporary "grin and bare it" 3rd pairing. If we were approaching healthy he'd be on the bench or doing spot duty as the #6. And he'd look much much better. Too much ice time, too much exposure, home ice disadvantage, and absolutely, he's playing like ass.

All I'm saying is he's being gauged off the worst possible set of circumstances, I want to see more.

I didn't know the mumps was still around in developed countries.

It's the same thing that swept thru the Blues for several weeks , most of the team got it at some point. The CDC even came there (on a day where Ken Hitchcock was to be interviewed by Hockey Central at noon, he called to say he would be late because the CDC asked them to vacate their office) Anyway, they diagnosed it as a 'viral gland infection' (mumps) and some of the Wild players also came down with it. Pretty nasty.

Kings D last year vs. Ducks was...

Doughty
Muzzin
Mitchell
Voynov
Martinez
Schultz
Greene

tonight...

Doughty
Muzzin
Martinez
Greene
McBain
McNabb

ofcourse it's going to be ugly.

I was in favor of the McNabb trade, cause Forbort/Gravel are not ready.

But I would rather see Forbort out there to be honest. forbort at least can make a good first pass, and has tremendous reach to separate pucks.
