I mean yes this is exactly what the media reported in September. Verbeek meet with Fowler (or his agent) and they agreed it was best they part ways, Fowler wanted it before the season. With out cap floor issues and Trouba almost traded around the draft, it seems clear to me, that Verbeek wanted to trade for Trouba before trading Fowler. Couldn’t get it done before season, was able to during the season and we got what we got.can't blame fowler for wanting out of this mess ASAP
verbeek probably made it clear to him that he preferred to move him ASAP as to give the young guys more playing time and fowler agreed to it knowing he wasn't in the team's future plans
Loved Fowler, wasn’t helping the team win games, and was blocking young talent from playing. The deal had to be made, So long and thank for all the fish.
