“Actual Adult” lol.

Again, you’re just trying to apply intentionally ambiguous terms to protect your precious Cutter because you like him.

Brain development is not a one size fits all thing. Some people’s brains are fully developed by age 18. Some continue developing into their 30s. Some people with brains that are still developing at 30 have less developed areas of the brain that account for morals and maturity than other individuals had when they were 14. Have you seen scans of Cutter’s brain to be calling him a “kid” and implying his brain development makes him immature?

In most countries, we draw the line at 18. Cutter Gauthier is an adult. You can call him an emotionally immature adult if it makes you feel better, but then you’d be insulting the young man and I don’t think you have any basis for that.
Uh, in developmental psychology at high school we were taught that generally, the brain finishes developing in the late 20s. I'm not sure it even is possible for it to have finished developing by 18 except for a very tiny minority.

That's why 18, and even 21, are completely arbitrary numbers. They could easily be 15 as well, it makes just about no difference.

That also is why I think driver's license age limit should be more like 28 or so. Would probably reduce the amount of unnecessary traffic accidents quite a bit.

No f***ing way! Monster trade!!

Have to say, Philly wins this. Cutter is overrated with low hockey IQ.
Hear Gauthiers camp crying about the flyers not signing him to turn pro. He could have signed a PTO with the phantoms, for what 17 remaining games, and been a pro but his entitled attitude didn't so shut up.

-20 year old top 10 pick, who has worked his entire life to get drafted wanting to have a say in how HIS career goes = entitled

-Grown man crying because a athlete refused to sign with his favorite team for reasons unknown to him = not entitled

Not sure if that checks out.

This is akin to telling a Doctor that they should be happy with a Nursing position because you are still helping people.

Gauthier believed he should be in the NHL (and hell he may have been promised that). The Flyers disagreed. He asked for a trade because of this. He also subsequently went to World Hockey Championships and had 7 Goals 2 Assists in 10 games. That was as a 19 year old playing against pro players.

The Flyers decision easily wouldve cost him millions of dollars. If he burns the first year of his contract, he is one year closer to RFA. By not letting him burn it, he now has to wait an additional year at league minimum. If I was promised the chance to do that, and the team reneged on that, I would be pissed and ask for a trade away too. (As we dont know if the Flyers promised him, this is only what I can imagine happened),

Finally, there were a number of previous players who played more than 10 games with their NHL club after college. Caufield did it with the Canadiens, Beniers did it with the Kraken.

There seems to be a lot of people who feel like Cutter owed them this or owed them that. At the end of the day, that teenager owes you nothing. Some Flyers fans made their own decisions to allow their anger to boil over to death threats and showing up at BC. That's not his fault. Cutter is not responsible for the choices of adults. He never has to explain himself. Adults should not ever be threatening children. Seems like a no brainer but the justification of awful behavior is just wrong.
Guaranteed those death threats came from 13 year olds and any fanbase would have had a few idiots doing that.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Flyers fans going to BC and spending their money on tickets just to troll, that's hilarious.

Why is everyone trying to deflect what Cutter did by bringing up the idiots messaging him? Pure deflection

what part of he doesn't have to give the reasons do you not get? you're not entitled to any reasons beyond the one he's already given. grow up
Lol are you confused? You just said he gave his reasons.... which he didn't.

Now you're saying he doesn't have to?

That's fine he doesn't have to, but he'll continue to get dragged in the process

are you not bothering to read the tweet or the article you replied too? "Gauthier's agent, Kurt Overhardt, said the decision was rooted in personal reasons related to the player's family." that's it. that's the only reason he decided not to sign. it's not a rumor when it comes from his own agent.
That's not giving a reason, at all. That's a bunch of words that mean absolutely nothing. Sounds like something you'd say to your boss when you call out of work.

No reason was given.

YUP that's just passion baby , something a team in california just wouldn't understand when it comes to hockey, i don't blame you looking at this guy like an Alien , he is quite the grease ball but god forbid there's actual fans of NHL teams that care and get this passionate about the sport and their team

If this was american football or futbol this would be normal of course. Since its hockey the concept of being a completely degenerate fan is foreign to some
If you're mad over this you're not a fan
