Just realized they need to sign the kid before July

Verbeek has to have already spoken to his agent, right?

Because Traff is a Euro draftee (not Russian), then we have four years to sign him after his draft date. Capwages and Puckpedia has his 'Must Sign By' date at Jun 1, 2028. Our own Lucas Pettersson was draft in the 2024 draft and he has the same 'Must Sign By' date as Traff.

I believe these are the breakdowns of 'Must Sign By' (MSB) dates for prospects
  • CHL = 2 years to sign or go back into the draft
  • NCAA = 4 years to sign; unless they go USHL first and then NCAA when drafted, then it could be five years like RD Ian Moore.
  • Euro (non Russian) = 4 years to sign
  • Russian = indefinite

short video, but i always like getting an inside look into these things.

I couldn't stop laughing when the league guy asked, with a straight face, if we had sufficient space to take on 50% of Dumo's contract. Hell we're barely treading above the cap minimum all year and we're getting back a draft pick and an unsigned guy playing in Europe. Does that guy work the war room in Toronto for video reviews too? :biglaugh:

Pretty sure he was asking Jersey if they had room to take on his contract.
