fowler - vatanen
beaulieu - bieska
theodore - manson
despres - holzer

Good lord why would anyone ever assemble a defense corps like that on purpose? And give up Lindholm to do so. Beaulieu and Bieksa as a 2nd pair smh

i think the deal anaheim should be taking is pacioretty and beaulieu for lindholm and rakall. their internal cap has them having difficulty signing both of those guys and they have a deep enough crew of defense to make this trade.

they could still run with a defense of fowler - vatanen
beaulieu - bieska
theodore - manson
despres - holzer

Your living in fantasy land. There is no way Ana touches that as it is awful for them. Put down the NHL17 controller. That 2nd pairing would be real bad. I wish they had to roll that out as a 2nd pairing.

im just thinking about that internal cap of yours. if theres one team capable of moving on without lindholm its the ducks.

It official your clueless. You don't trade by far your best defenseman to try to find a needed winger. Get over it the Ducks won't move him and if they did many teams would beat any offer you have tossed out here.

We are not trading Lindholm and Rakell. This is just terrible trade for the Ducks. What a terrible defense pairs you listed.

No. Not close. Take out Rakell and Ducks fans still won't like it.

Just try Nick Ritchie there.

We are not trading Ritchie

Are trade chips are:
Fowler
Stoner
Bieksa
Young Prospect Player

Based on what you are offering...

:sabres
Fowler

:ducks2
Ennis

Buffalo want LHD and Ennis can play LW. Ennis is small but should compliment Pery/Getzlaf who but have plenty of size/strenght. Ennis has an extra year on his contract and has an AAV of +$600,000. Not an ideal 1LW but I think it could work with what your trade chips are.

ANA wants a 1st line LW, but wants to be cheap and skambud their best player. Can't have it all.

Let them suffer.

Bieska and Stoner would be cap dumps. In reality your looking at a quality young Dman, plus possibly a first for a cost controlled top 6 left winger. There are a couple of matches, but I think BM is waiting to sort out Lindholm until he makes any moves.

Chris Kunitz for one final year with his two buddies Perry and Getzlaf.

Pens will take a 2nd or a 3rd and some project prospect.

Kunitz is still a valuable player, but when you've had a certain player for so long and you want to see others get a shot instead, well, this is the result. Although, then this makes us weaker on the left side.

Bieksa for D.Brown! Ducks don't have to protect Bieksa in the expansion draft, he may waive his NTC to move down the freeway. Kings can protect 4D as they don't have more then 4 forwards they need to protect.

How is this bad?

We are trying to shed some salary can't be adding Kunitz when we still have Lindholm and Rakell to re-sign. Also wouldn't trade a 2nd or a 3rd and a prospect for Kunitz even if we had no money/cap troubles.

Bieksa for D.Brown! Ducks don't have to protect Bieksa in the expansion draft, he may waive his NTC to move down the freeway. Kings can protect 4D as they don't have more then 4 forwards they need to protect.

We don't want Brown and his $5,875,000 cap hit per year for 6 seasons terrible contract. We can easily ask Bieksa to waive for expansion or buy him out.

Bieksa & Stoner are cap dumps plain and simple. Especially Bieksa with his NMC and the upcoming expansion draft (he'll have to be protected).

Anaheim has roughly $7.5M to sign Lindholm, Rakell and add their 13th forward.

IMO Anaheim should do 4 things:

1. Trade Fowler: either
A) to Boston for Spooner + 2016 3rd
-or-
B) to Detroit for Mantha + Athanasiou
-Each of these would save the Ducks roughly $3M cap space, and add youth to Anaheim's forward ranks.

2. Re-sign Lindholm long term, and Rakell to a 1/2 year contract:
Lindholm- 7yrs/$6M per
Rakell- hope he just signs a qualifier or 2yrs/$2M per.

3. Trade Bieksa with one of Montour/Larsson:
Basically a cap dump, but also opens up an extra spot to be used in expansion draft.

Pretty sure if mantha and athanasious were on the table for Fowler we would have already done that trade... and if we got both I'd package a forward prospect to move bieska or stoner not montour or larsson too important to keeping us a competitive team for years to come.

The Ducks won't allow Bieksa to eat up an expansion protection slot over a better, younger dman. His options will be waiving his NMC for the draft or being bought out of the final year of his deal. Waiving would just be a formality, Vegas won't select him.
