Was still thirsty for more Hockey after the games last night so I went back and watched last years US vs CAN prelim game on youtube. Such a great game. Around the 11 minute mark Lafreniere says "eff it" and takes over. The highlights don't do him justice, he's so fun to watch play everytime he hits the ice. Forgot how good Jones looked that game too.

Sounds about right. Was only my first time watching him play.

Ironically he looked a lot more polished in the o-zone.

Reichel was already off the board at 28 and Peterka wouldn't have been a horrible pick there but there were better players available. Would have been fun to see the German triplets together though

Yep I know Chicago took Reichel. Just saying would have been a nice connection to have two German prospects one which will be incredible.

Russia swarming the Swedes in the first half of the first period--Wallstedt was very good--Afanasayev scored but really Wallstedt had no chance as the Swedish defense had collapsed on the play which allowed the Russian player to make a cross crease pass. The Swedes kind of got a lucky one as Mukhamadullin (the Devils 1st) went for a skate and left Costmar all alone in front to deflect a cross crease pass against Askarov. The Swedes got a power play then--a good first minute for them though no great shots and a sucky second minute. Before the period ends Russia takes a 2-1 lead on another cross crease pass from Podkolzin to Amirov. Those two guys looked awesome in the first. Wallstedt looked really really good. He had no chance really to stop either though he got a piece of the shot by Amirov. The Swedes need to pick it up.
