Am I the only one who feels both the Kings and Nucks have the most pessimistic fans in the league?

I understand that many things about both teams' play concern both fanbases and rightfully so. Likewise, I know both have had relatively easier schedules to start the season. Still they're both top 3 in the division and have excellent advanced metrics. Kings are 2nd in the league in 5on5 xGF% and Nucks are 4th. Kings are 1st in the league in xGA per 60, while Nucks are 3rd, 5on5. Kings are 2nd in all situaitons 5on5 xGF% while Nucks are 12th. Kings are 1st in league xGA per 60 in all situations, while Nucks are 3rd.

Keep in mind all of this while the Kings have not had Doughty at all, whereas the Nucks have not had Demko at all, recently suffered an injury to Boeser, and with both Petey and Miller being clearly off (Miller finally taking a leave).

It's completely valid to be concerned about their play since there are clear flaws that would still linger even if both rosters were 100% healthy, but I still believe both teams are strong.

Canucks fans don't believe in advanced stats so you're kinda pissing into the wind there.

I know several Rangers fans and not a single one of them have a healthy, normal view of them that matches reality. You've won the fourth most games in the playoffs in the cap era, you got Panarin who refused to play anywhere else, you've got Adam Fox who threw the biggest temper tantrum I've ever seen a pro athlete throw because he refused to play anywhere else, and you've got the best goalie in the world. The only thing they've got a point on is history, and that can change in an instant.

I can't even take pleasure in their supposed suffering. They're delusional.

Yeah I think this is a good example I've noticed as well.

People are saying Buffalo but its more like Apathy than pessimistic in their case

I am happy to agree with you just to keep the title away from Leaf fans.

That's because the Kings are a definition of a black hole team, not good enough to be a contender, yet getting older and not rebuilding because they decided foolishly they were good enough to go for it while ignoring the good things that were happening were because of kids they HAD to play and they went right back to not playing them when the shitty vets got healthy. Dark present, darker future. They have a nepotistic front office that is holding on to past glory--one who inherited any advantage a GM could possibly want, including limitless pockets, tons of assets, a blank slate to either compete or rebuild, and future HOFers you could use as mentors OR assets--and have simply pissed it all away to this point. They draft phenomenally as evidenced by their players having great success elsewhere--but develop terribly as you can see in their inhouse results and deployment. And in the last few years, they've gotten completely unprofessional and have had staff and players alike yapping at fans on the internet while they struggle. It's a f***ing circus and we hope the light at the end of the tunnel is Blake's train buuuut it's probably just Uncle Phil swinging by to pick up another suitcase of money because the absolute worst part is despite all the shenanigans they are STILL one of the most profitable franchises in the league and LA live is just a money printer. We are f***ed.

Also don't forget they were at or near the top of the league through last december as well, smoke and mirrors once the real hockey begins, because you can't play 37 year olds 25 minutes a night.

I could go on but that felt good, thanks!

Vancouver? lol. Last year they were the most optimistic.

More like, Canadian markets plan the parade when times are good and act like all light has gone from the world when things are not good

As a west coast Canadian Rangers fan who doesn't get to watch many of the games, I concur. Any time I pop into the GDT or post game thread, I would assume the team got destroyed and didn't even put up a fight. Lo and behold, they're 11-4-1.
