If Red Kelly makes the Leafs at all, it has to be as a center. So much of his value to that team was tied into his position, whether it be to go up against Beliveau head to head, or set up Mahovlich.

Thing is, Apps, Kennedy, and Keon are very obviously over Kelly simply as Leafs.

So Kelly needs to beat out Sundin, Sittler, Primeau, and Bentley just to make it.
