Christmas '85....If you recall back then, options & quality for jerseys was all over the map. Very very few people had authentics as few places sold them. Joe Dimaggio's Sporting Goods in Flushing was our local spot for hockey gear. My mom bought me an unbranded home white blank mesh replica with no numbers & a very weak ironed on "Rangers" cloth crest for the front. The week of Christmas break I had Ridley 18 vinyl name & numbers ironed on the back & sleeves. That was his rookie season. It was not pretty, but I wore the hell out of it to MSG & playing tons of pick up roller hockey. Ridley was traded about a year later...LOL.
First one I bought with my own cash. 4 years later....freshman year of college. A cheap CCM airknit white replica, but I paid $50 to have the authentic name & numbers put on it. I chose Turcotte 8. I think a buddy of mine still has it. I gave it to him when I scored my '94 Leetch that I posted earlier in the thread.
