Just curious : what's wrong with the predators organization trying to improve their product for their fanbase? Going to your team's home game and being surrounded by obnoxious fans from the opposing team seems like a ****** way to spend your evening.
Exactly who would you rather have po'ed bandwagon Hawks fans or your season ticket holders. One is only going to attend games one time per season if they don't come back then you very little, if your season ticket holders get mad then you lose a lot.

I like how we complain the players don't have enough personality and then we finally get to see it at events like this and people crap all over it. :shakehead

I bet $25 on the total score to be over 14 goals. So 15 goals or more

Good bet or not?

I see the sarcasm emoticon, but the Preds average 16,910 in an arena of 17,010. 100 seats below capacity in a southern market. They have no problems with attendance. I think they're also great fans.

As Nashville fans we have been redheaded step children for years trying to fit in. Like others have pointed out any Blackhawk would be booed here. Along with Perry and $uter. One thing you have never heard is Pred fans booing there own team, something that many cities do on a regular basis. So to make a point of our fans singling out a few is disingenuous by a lot who are getting there drawers in a wad here. Many former players from Nashville have endured the you suck. Chris Mason, Lindback, Dan Ellis, and a host of others but this was only after a round of applause and usually a appreciation clip on the jumbotron. Granted by far we do noit have the largest NHL fanbase but we do have a good core of hardcore fans and the base does grow year over year.

I have been to many NHL games outside of Nashville and I know for a fact that most fans from other teams are treated better here than I have experienced elsewhere. The two exceptions Colorado and Tampa I have always been treated well there. There are bad apples in every fanbase but there are truly a few teams that are just horrid to outside fans. I doubt we will ever bet that way with one execption. The drunks from Chicago we will never accept that type behavior. At some point I hope that ownership will allow Metro Police to do there job and haul these fools to the pokey, but thus far they have restrained from doing this.

I'm a Canucks fan. It was the 2011 playoffs when I realized what great fans are in Nashville. Never gave up on their team and indeed, kept cheering like crazy even when they knew their season was over.

You mean the ones with the DRW tattoo claiming they've been Blackhawk fans their entire life.....

The puck does not "pick up speed" as it's moving in the air JR

I'd guess the speed camera (or whatever you want to call it) is near the bottom of the net. Shooting directly at it would give a more accurate (i.e. higher) reading since it can't measure any component of the speed that's perpendicular to it.

Another possibility is that lifting the puck more wastes energy that could otherwise be used to propel it forwards. You want to get it off the ice so there's no friction under the puck, but any more than that is unnecessary.

I agree that JR has no idea what he's talking about, but shooting low seems to work. Could make sense.

I watched a stream of the event last night and actually really enjoyed the Skills Competition. That being said, people in the chat were crapping all over the format, saying how awful it was, etc. I thought it was fun. Players letting loose and actually having fun and showing some personality is exactly what you want to see at these types of events. It helps market the game.

I still don't understand why it was so "awful" to some people. They must not understand the format.

I met some really solid guys who came down from Vancouver for that series.
They seemed to enjoy their time here.

We had fans travelling to every city we played in that spring. San Jose was nearly over-run by Canucks fans. Our owner was even travelling to the cities and partying with our fans. Also if I recall correctly our guys said Nashville was fantastic and gave it the highest marks for friendliness, etc. I'd love to get there sometime.

People only want players to have the specific personality they want them to have. If they don't have a big personality they whine, if they have personality of a type they don't love they whine. A lot of the most vocal complainers will complain no matter what happens.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who will find something to complain about everything, no matter how great it may have been. Everything has to be catered perfectly to them personally in their minds apparently.

Bit of a difference between the every day personality that's lacking nowadays (on ice, interviews, etc) and this garbage.

it was amazing. I laughed. I cried.

Every single moment was perfect entertainment.

I can't wait for the Miracle-style movie based on it.

The skills competition was great. I really enjoyed it. It was awesome to see the players personalities on the ice and that they were having a fun time. The fans in Nashville really seemed to enjoy it too. This is the time for players to have fun and really entertain the fans.

Are people really going to pretend that Larkin actually broke Gartner's record? He got a huge head start, and I'll I've heard is how impressive it was that he beat a record that was set before he was born.

Have him start at the red line from a stand still and see how he does. Not taking anything away from him, but that was a bit of a sham.
