Is it time to consider Werenski as one of the best players in franchise history? Right now I’d have to say it’s Bob, and Z probably hasn’t passed him yet. But he might be getting close

Depends on how you define best. Panarin has the top two seasons with the most points.

Mount Rushmore is probably Bobrovsky, Nash, Werenski, Cam with honorable mentions to Jenner and Foligno.

Dude did get Norris votes, and he deserved them. It’s also worth to mention how different the team played most of the time back then, and just how low scoring of a team they were. Having Atkinson and Foligno before Jones is nonsense,IMO.

Panarin was the best to ever play with the CBJ jersey on, unfortunately for as short as it was. Neither he, Nash, or Jones should be looked at negatively however.

Guys like Fedorov and Gaborik belong on a list also.

Jones was a solid player here. He probably makes the list if he stayed. The one year (I think it was 2016-17) he got Norris votes they were deserved. However he didn’t maintain that elite level of play. He just wasn’t here long enough to be considered imo.

Panarin might be the best player to play for us talent wise, but be wasnt here long enough. Fedorov and Gaborik are on the list if it’s “best players to ever play for the CBJ.” But not from their own accomplishments here.

Werenski, as an individual player, is playing better than he ever has. It has everything to do with his increased mobility and overall physical ability. He has looked like the same player with Severson, Provorov, and now Fabbro. Different players and play styles mesh differently. Each one of these guys has looked very good at different parts of the year, IMO, non coincidentally mostly when they are playing with Werenski.

The Werenski-Jones pairing was clearly the most effective or impactful as a pairing, even if Werenski wasn’t at his “peak”, which he seems to be at right now.

I for one find it a mite disappointing that Jones' peak has evidently passed him by. Imagine peak Werenski and peak Jones together. Mmmmmmm.

Of course, that'd also require an alternate universe in which Jones doesn't force his way out, but c'mon, a girl can dream.

Panarin and Jones should definitely be listed. I wouldn't list Fedorov or Gaborik, tho, as their big years weren't in union blue.

I dunno. Panarin's and Jones' peaks here were high enough that I'd keep them up there on a list regardless.

Big fan of Jones, but longevity factors in. I mean there is no doubt the best performing Jacket ever was Panarin (2 highest point seasons) but is he a top 10 Jacket all time? Hell, how do you rate Saad who had a couple of really good seasons and his career pretty much peaked here. Jones was a Jacket for 5 1/2 seasons. To me that is not long enough to get you in the top 5 all time.

Werenski - 9 seasons
Nash - 9 seasons
Atkinson - 8 full seasons and 2 half seasons
Foligno - 9 seasons

I’d probably have Jones next. Then maybe Dubinsky.

Interesting mindset and winky face. The CBJ would undoubtedly have been and be better now, if he would have stayed. I don’t watch the Chicago Blackhawks, no. I’ll assume that most of Jones’ “decline“ and him playing with literally one of the worst 3 rosters on the NHL the last few years, is not a coincidence.

He would look like a completely different player playing with current day Werenski.

Why don’t people look at Foligno and Atkinson the same exact way??

Can anyone give me a good reason why Nick Foligno is the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks?

Other names for this way off topic tangent:

Jenner 3rd in points as a Jacket and 1st in games as a Jacket.
Vyborney is 6th in points and 7th in games.
Savard is 5th in games.

I just don’t understand the mindset, even when it comes to Panarin. Or especially when it comes to him. Him and Jones should be looked at similar in the way that they were completely professional and played at a level that was literally best in the LEAGUE for at least a couple seasons, which is all you can ask of ANYONE. It sucks they left, but, that’s really all that should be taken from it, in regards to them personally. IMO.

Again, I don’t understand the “longevity factor” here. Panarin and his amount of time I can understand the argument. But he was still THE BEST when he was here. As was the team. Jones and 5 and a half years!?! Come on.

And again, to everyone else and their lists. Bob, Nash, Atkinson, Foligno all have similar “endings” to their CBJ careers, as Panarin and Jones.
