Samberg should slot into his spot, and maybe Chevy brings in someone to play on the bottom pair. Or maybe that's Heinola, and Chevy is eying a depth guy to play with him on the right side
Samberg improved greatly over last year and then started to go backwards late in the season and playoffs. Dillon was a way better D-man.

Do you seriously believe you are allowed to put shit like that into a contract?
Morgan Barron's contract... no - Scheif and Helle - 100%

Its like signing a Director or Actor's agreement - you can ask for a certain level of creative input and right of refusal etc... I'd say Helle, Jomo, Scheif are all at that level on the Jets - that's about it

Said it at the deadline, if the Jets are "not like other teams" at Free Agency then they can't be behaving like 30 other teams at the deadline offloading picks for pending UFAs but that is justified by some here as "every team is going to do that in the jets position". If you can't sign players for free on july 1st then you gotta make up for that by zigging when the rest of the league zags in march.

That would explain why Connor is always playing with Scheif and the bizarre usage on Helle during the regular season (plus inputs on who gets the backup role).

You can't put stuff like that into contracts.
Even bonuses are restricted to over 35? year old players and ELC contracts.
No way Scheif has a bonus in his deal.

How do we ever bolster the lineup then? Every team makes additions either through FA or deadline. If we are going to refuse to do that and build only through the draft we better up our game there.

My 2 cents: hang onto picks leading up to a draft and move them to a team that is desperate to get back into the 1st round. There might be a team who has a player who they might want to offload before July 1st.

Still expecting a vet dman or two to be signed. No Dillon, no Schmdit, and the D needed to improve with those players. Stanley and Heinola as full-timers isn't going to cut it.

Draft + the trade market involving players with term. Offloading 1sts for rentals doesn't seem to make a lot of sense for a team like the Jets. Esp 1sts spent on marginal impact players like Monahan.

What are the odds of Chevy not signing anyone because He needs the roster and cap space because he's actually working on a Laine trade?

Meanwhile they long time sign Monahan...

Is that smoke I'm smelling? Maybe I just need to get out of the sun after all.

We need to start hitting on later round picks. Have we ever hit on a top 6 F or top 4 D that wasn't a top 15 pick?

We're gonna need to start hitting on picks out of the top 15 into our top 6 F and top 4 D then. Because so far we haven't really been doing that.
