I would like to challenge (respectfully of course) your perspective on a few of these lines/players.

Line 1, who is playing the defensively responsible role? Scheifle? Tarasenko? I think not. Maybe my eye test on Vlad is bad… but forcing Perfetti to anchor the responsibility on the top line is asking for trouble. He’s the guys supposedly the most steps ahead and he has to be thinking about defense? Maybe not.

I think the centers on the 2nd and 3rd lines get swapped…. Just because of their history playing together. Not sure it’ll happen, just a hunch.

Also. Raanta will spend most of this season on LTIR. (Which would work if he was named Mark Stone…) varlamov sounds fun though. I’m down for that.

What do we realistically need (With Scheif and Helle still on the roster)? A backup goalie, top 6 C, 1RD...Only thing we could possibly get from free agency is a backup goalie so that's all I'm expecting

Because $800,000 is better than $0, and $0 is what the other 31 teams were probably offering.
