Seriously, the Jays are a different beast altogether. No trouble cheering for them whatsoever myself.

Although this game is becoming a bit of a s*** show. Price seems to have been rested too much and if we can't win a game with him against Texas, it doesn't bode well, especially if Donaldson is out for a while.

Still gonna cheer them on until they're done though. It's been a fun summer.

I think part of it is that I'm not a huge baseball fan. And in most sports (other than Canada in the Olympics for hockey) I'm always the one to cheer for the underdog. So hearing the constant "Jays will win the world series" makes me want to cheer against them.

That said, the summer was fun To watch games as the crowd was unbelievable.

I get that mentality. I think many share it. But for some reason I have no problem separating Leafs fandom from the Jays. I guess the city itself becomes irrelevant to my different sport devotions.

Different ownership too…I mean who doesn't love Rogers!? :sarcasm:

I'm also a former Expo fan. I still have more affinity with the NL and hate the DH, but I'm on the Blue Jays bandwagon.

Not great with a quick turnaround. But, not unexpected.

And please, please, please, please, please, even if it's a sweep, please, please, please don't call it a choke. Please?

Losing does not equal choking, okay.

Let the history books decide.

They are the overwhelming favourites

If they get swept it's totally a choke

And a magnificent one at that

They are NOT the overwhelming favorites. Everyone and their dog knew the Rangers and Jays were the two hottest AL teams going into the playoffs. They had nearly identical record after the trade deadline.

The "overwhelming" favorite to win it all is the Cardinals. They were the best team all season long.

No, see the problem is everyone is so caught up in this Jays fever, no one stopped to realize that another team in the AL has also been on a tear. Hockey fans watching baseball, I tell ya.

Pity we face them so early... two of the hottest, most offensive and exciting teams in baseball, and one of them is going home in 4 games or less.

Could be worse. Pirates with 98 wins don't even get a sniff.

Of all possible opponents, Texas were the ones I was fearing the most. Ugh...

Still, I believe in Stroman. And we're facing a lefty! Optimistic about tomorrow.

There were no easy match ups in the first round. Houston is no joke either.

No home team has won a game yet. That is very odd.

My department of like 100+ people got the afternoon off.
Given this is leading into the long weekend I hope most places do that unless they can't (restaurants, retail etc)

It still feels super weird that the game is starting in 10 minutes. I just had my coffee break ffs.

Edit: woops, 12:45 start, not 12...
