A lot of you are sounding like people who started watching baseball 3 weeks ago after taking 20 years off.

I literally haven't watched baseball in over 20 years. Also, I was an Expos fan, so it would be hard for me to get on board a Jays bandwagon. I even had trouble getting excited about the Jays championship years in the early nineties, which is probably the last time I paid any attention whatsoever.

Amazing.

As a long suffering Cubs fan, watching this team of kids play so well is so satisfying. After years of Maple Leafing the situation by just throwing money at the problems, the Cubs finally realized that teams need to be BUILT. Bringing in Theo was the greatest move this franchise has made in 20 years. And this is only year 2 of Theo's plan.

I don't even know what I'd do if the Cubs met the Jays in the World Series. I can't even...

Though both the Jays and the Cubs have very, very hard divisional match-ups. If they can get past the first round, I'm feeling very good for round 2.

Nice to see the Cubs get through. That team has a lot of emotional baggage like the BoSox used to so it would be good to see them have a run, so long as it doesn't conflict with the Jays in which case they can go **** their ***** and ***** inside that Ivy wall.

I'm incredibly excited for the game today - this is a long time coming and the city is electric about this, its not often you see this in TO. I also just picked up two tickets for the Stro Show tomorrow.

How long are we talking, here? Sammy Sosa? Ryne Sandberg?

... Ron Santo?

Santo...I'm not that old!

I was 5 when my cousin from Chicago made me a fan. That was the year Sandberg was going to bring it all home. And then they didn't. Then they didn't even sniff a division title til they were moved from the East to the new Central.

Anyone know a place where a man can find a good reliable quality stream for the Jays game?

I have sources for low-def MLB streams, but looking to upgrade my game for the playoffs.

45 minutes or so before game-time, you can find streams for the game posted in here: https://www.reddit.com/r/mlbstreams. Look for the youtube links, those ones are glorious quality whenever they show up.

I'm not sure if it works outside of Canada, but if you have a close friend or family member in Canada who subscribes to Rogers, you can borrow their username and password and stream it in HD from now.sportsnet.ca.

The first round really should not be all that close as for the second round I would be more worried about Houston then Kansas.

Ditto for me.

I'll also add that back when the Jays were good in the late 80s / early 90s, the TO media took every possible opportunity to portray them as superior to the Expos -- better on-field record, better stadium, better attendance, blah blah blah same old Toronto crap.

I love Pete Rose as an analyst.

He's the crotchetiest old man with nothing to lose, who doesn't give a flying **** and is just throwing grenades at the rest of the panel.

Boy Texas is good at base running.

2-0 TEX in the third.

Come on Jays!

Gallardo is cruising because the Jays are in "swing at everything" mode. They need to settle down and just let the hits come. They may be too amped by the hot crowd right now.

Solid beard on the guy at bat right now.

Sketchy goatee on the Texans pitcher, not sure what is going on there.

I think the current state of the game can be attributed to the fact that the Rangers are the second hottest team coming into the PS (behind the Jays), have lots of power as seen by the recent HR, their ace has our number, and we wasted a golden opportunity to pile on some runs in the 4th.

Price has been ok, he hasn't been great with his command though. Might be a product of resting him down the stretch. 2 hit batters ain't good either.

My mind says "why couldn't we play the Stros or Royals".... but that's unreasonable given the powerhouse the Jays are. Would be a shame to "waste" Price on a game 1 loss though.

No faith has been lost, this isn't a 1 game series. But we need to tighten up.

As someone who is from Toronto, I have seen the insane overhyping of Toronto (with pretty much any sport --- Jays, Raptors, Leafs) and am finding a hard time cheering for them. I want to -- but my body says NO it's a Toronto team let's watch and see if they flop. I'm an evil soul.

I get that mentality. I think many share it. But for some reason I have no problem separating Leafs fandom from the Jays. I guess the city itself becomes irrelevant to my different sport devotions.

Seriously, the Jays are a different beast altogether. No trouble cheering for them whatsoever myself.

Although this game is becoming a bit of a s*** show. Price seems to have been rested too much and if we can't win a game with him against Texas, it doesn't bode well, especially if Donaldson is out for a while.

Still gonna cheer them on until they're done though. It's been a fun summer.
