He wasn't offered a contract by CHI according to Powers. His agent said he'd be interested in signing with CHI after his KHL contract ended this year. Again, not a needle-mover for an organization that has *a lot* of prospects to sign over the next 1-2 years.

If he wanted to give the Blackhawks a real chance he'd be signed. Entirely my opinion.

I like Safonov. He could be a 4C. But unless Powers is way off base, clearly the team doesn't view him as a guy worth a contract at the moment.

Many of these Russian agents say that because they don't want to pass up the opportunity. But there's zero indication he really was wanting to come over but the Blackhawks said no.

Just saying he's open to it.. isn't Safonov really trying to come over. Its not worth extending an offer if you know he won't. And he'll surely want a, if I'm sent to the AHL I'm free to go back to Russia deal. So if we think hes at best a 4C, that's not really worth bringing over for him to likely be waived and gone or your force someone else to be waived to keep a 4th liner.

Since the Blackhawks are not a cheap organization I'd like to see a little more involvement with Indy . Sign a few lesser draft picks (to AHL Contracts), free agents ; Pharand , Marcel ,etc. This wont break the budget and will help in Rockford . Indy always seems to suck. Is this a personnel / players , Coaching ?

Marcel has been on Ahl deals the last 2 years. Players themselves have to want to here also
