Vanacker scored tonight. But it looks like the Bulldogs are in trouble as they lost again.

That team runs on Lardis, and with him out, they’re probably going to bow out pretty quietly. It’s also why I think Jake O’Brien is going to be drafted way too high. I think he was the beneficiary of being on a stacked team as opposed to the reason why they were so good, which again was Lardis.

I guess that should make us feel better about Lardis then, right?

Brantford was the top team in the East but all the powerhouses were in the West of the OHL. Even with Lardis, the Bulldogs only finished 5 points ahead of the Oshawa and would have been in for a tight series.

O'Brien like Lardis plays a CHL star game that he's going to have to drastically change if he wants to succeed at higher levels. Not a huge fan.

The good thing about Lardis is that he doesn't need to carry the puck to be effective. He gets his shot off so quickly and he doesn't need passes to be perfectly in his wheelhouse to get shots off/score.

The biggest thing for him will be finding ways to be effective when chances aren't going to come as easily off the rush as in they were in junior.

I was referring to O'Brien more than Lardis. Lardis definitely has a knack for burying half chances and that plays at every level.

Oh I'm not much of an O'Brien fan. PP merchant this year. Always have time for guys that can make plays but I wouldn't touch him in the top-10.
Yeah he's just outside the top 10 for me

I think he has become the most overrated player in this draft

I think a team will reach on him

Vanacker had an assist last night but Brantford lost again and are now on the brink of elimination.

I thought they were the second best team in the OHL this year, but losing Lardis has killed whatever momentum they had. They play again tonight.

Vanacker missed burying some really good chances as well.I don’t know if he is favouring his repaired shoulder but he seems reluctant to really play physical at times. He does appear bigger than last year as well.
