Unusual game.. Brantford got out-shot 44-30 ...scored 10 hoalsvon justc30bshotscon goal...

The key was they wentv 6/10 on the PP...so just as impressive was that on theirc4 ES goals,Lardis was +2 and Vanacker +3..

Today Ronan Kantserov got 2A in a 5-2 Metallurg win over Siberia...
So...again withoutxa goal..

He went into the game with at least a ten game goal-less streak..Do not know if eliteprospects.com has updated his totals to include this gMe yet..If they dod it means 11 games at least without a goal
..maybe more because they only show 5 and ten game goals and assits summaries to show how a player is trending.

However..whike Kantserov still got listed on line1 with with Zernov and Silantyev,Kantserov in the player statostocs(via KHL flsshscorel was shown as having pkayed only 4:39 monutescofcice-time..

Did he get hirt? Or was he benched?

Do not know..Zero and Sikantyev had had much much more TOI..

Zero was aboutc3 times more than Kantserov...indicating he pkayedxall 3 periods ..but itcseems Kantserov only played tge first period by hos low minutes.. so I assume he got injured.

Anyone know what happened to hom?

I am case he was in a bad goal scoring slump..and got off Zero shots on goal in his 4:39 of lplay today.Yrs he gotc1a..but the goals that were going inand higherxshotscon goal have been dormant for at keastx10-11hames or more.

Following Brantford because of Lardisxand Vanacker I keep noting tgexassistscveing piled uo by 2025 draft eligible Jake O'Brian...listed at y"2 +70 , but probably heftier now cs. At season start,this playmKibg Center is usually centering for Vanacker ontgeirx2nd kine but does get Pp time too..

He is widely divergent in the rankings..
His Consolidated r king is only#18
..but Bob McKenzie and his 10 panel of NHL scouts rank him #9N.A. skater...meaning probable rank should beat minimum 10'12 if 1 or 2 euroskaters get on top 9..on the other hand Craig Button has him only at #23..

The thing I note is that he is about a 3 to1 ratio assists to goals player...maybe the best playmaker in the draft.

He is a relatively young pkayer with a June birthrate before he turns 18...so lots of runway to get more mass to his frame and get even stronger.

Not a speedster but scoutibg report says smooth skater...good forechrcker..very very good hockey sense and elite creative playmaker..
The knock on him would be low volume shooter but he has scored enough goals to suggest shot effectiveness is not the problem..just that at this point he woukd ratger set up his wingers than try doing higher volume in shots himself.

Probably nerdscto work on the drfebsivecsidevof his game because he still is a minus pkayer o the stats so far..But the negative total has been reducing indicating he is improving in this aspect.

I do find him intriguing.

If Hawkscget pushed down to #3 or#4 ,I woukd realky be looking at Drsnoyets and O'Brian Crnter options..Schaefer and Misa could go 1-2respectiveky..IF a GM is stupid enough to takectgevover-hyped 5"10.5 Hagens,then maybe we still get Misa at #3..but if he is off the board then we still have a good shotcat 1 of 2 6'2 Centers...
Yes Martone as a winger would be there at #4or#5 too..but honestly his production took has trended down compared to what he did on the first half of the season.

I am more intrigued by the trending up by O'Brian and his production since the New Year began.
O'Brian may be scratching the surface of his potential..Martone is an older player and may have plateaued.
Just look up highlights of O'Brian..see the creative playmaking ..See him win board battles and make plays leading to goals for his wingers resulting off winning the puck.. Tgerecus just some "it" factor that tells me hexwill translate well as a 2C creating offense and I think his defense is improving now .

Next season he will be given a go to 1C role in Brantford .and should get even better..

I do not think his high assist total is just as a result of playing with talent Brantford has ...yes he does get Pp time but at evens hevis centering line 2 with Vanacker as 2 of hisxwingers ..not as 1C on the Lardis line.

It gives Brantford 2 very goodvlibes and tge depth needed to bomb teams like they are.

Desnoyers is th better goal scorer and defensive player at this point but O'Brian may be the better possession player and his defensive game s improving such that next season this may not be an issue against him.

I think I would be hapoy woth eitger of them as a 2C option ..justc2 dofferent sets of attributes..


Misa is the top C in this draft ..so if we get the #2 and Schaefer went at #1, then we have to grab Misa..

One thing is for sure...we either get our next 1D in Schaefer Or we land one of 3 Centers ...one who is 6'1(Misa) or 2 who are above 6'2 (Desnoyers or O"Brien)...it will be ok folks..unless KD is so stupid hevtakes theover-hyped undersized Hagens who has not gotten better but regressed in the 2025 and only scored points anyway I the first half because Leonard and Perrault as hus talented wingers scored so much.

Hagens akso is Oldfield the draft..a November 3rd 2006 birthdate ...and inany case his production drspitevpkayong with Leonard and Prerraukt in the first half is NOT Celeberini production level...paucity of goals and just over a pint a game is NOT thatvinpressive considering his privileged situation playing with L and P or 1 of them most of the season and on the Po..

I just think hevis Over'Ratedconsideribg height...lack of goals. And underwhelming points given hosxspecial featured roles on a top NCAa squad.

He did nothing to convince me Hawks shoukd take him ..

I do not think hevis the next Jack Hughes.. silky comparable.

Misa over him for sure.. but if we have to draft at,#3or#4thand Misa gone beforexwe pick..then I still would consider the 2 6'2Centsrs...Desnoyers and O'Brien..

Given Bousvert's scoribg has cookedcway off last 10Gp ...Nd Oliver Moore keeps underwhelming...I am notvthat confident either has a ceiling they can reach as high as ac2C solution for the Hawks..hence the need for better 2C options.

Misa woukd solve this of course..but if not then, 2 verybinterstobgboptions with Desnoyers orcO'bBroen.

I am divided...on the 1vhand I agree with tge consensuscthat Schaefer projects as a special elite talent 1D who happens to be good not just offensively to drive play and oace of the game but also defensively to stop attacks before they even get across his own bkueline or to be first on puckvretrievals then exitingboutvofvhisvown zone.. a true 1D level player ...hard to find so they akwayscvaluevthiscavove any forward unless a generatuonal Center cones along.

SJ has a deep forward prospect pool but lacks that #1D prospect ..so maybe they woukd do that deal.

Hawks cannot solve 2 problems with only 1 pick in a top 2 scenario.

A dilemma for KD ...all Hawks center prospects projects as average 2Cs at brst or even iffy 2Cs...certainly not elite 3Cs..but Misa prpjecysxas an elite C..whether he woukd be ax1C or a 2C..

Thecis such a crying need for such cebter on the other top 2 lines that you wonder if KD should follow the hetca 1D like Schaefer When you get the chance geberalnadvice from the HM handbook.

This is not the get Bedard some help for his line problem solved.. but it coukd be the get a 2nd line tobe so effective it can ease the checking on Bedard anyway if the opos worry about stopping a Misa libe ahead of stopping a Bedard line...or at least a pick your poison dilemma forthe opps.

You can just drool if Misa×Latdis wera a duo on line 2..
You could play them with Bedard o the Pp.

Since Vanacker does not play on Misa's line except when on the PP at times,maybe Vanacker plays with Bedard ...hevis hoid 2 was Nd woukd provide ddfebzive support for Bedard from the wing.

However if Hawjs took Schaefer they get a 1D then adding Lev as 1RD and Rinzel as 2RD to partner Vlasic you get a very good top 4 Dcorps ...if cannot trade Jones eventually, reduce him as 3RD.

However still leaves less than desirable 2Nd kibe C issue.

So it is a difficult decision considering Hawks circumstances as to which solution route they want to take. Schaefer or Misa..

Either 1 solves a huge piece of the fiture Cup contender team structure you want in place.. but you cannot have both at thisx1 draft.

Maybe if Hawks win the 2st lotto and SJ shoved to #2and stays there afterc2ndckitto and you offered KK + our Tor first ('25) +Seth Jones (if he waives his NMC) for their#2overall..then you could get both Misa and Schaefer..
SJ would then still conevout with 3 first roubd picks for 2025 which they xoukdvpackage in sobe deal to move back up ...they do not need Centers or wings.. they need dmem
So maybe Hawks have enough ammo to give them a deal to help their needs ina quicker fashion than having to wait 1 more year of development in Juniors for Schaefer's NHL debut in 26/27 season..hecwill need another junior year given hiscvery young age and having missed 2nd halfof thiscseadon's development.

But I do not think Jones would waive to join a
another re-building team..
So with such an outcome unlikely,it is back tobtge 1D vs. 2C who maybea more effective C than Hawks 1C(Bedard ).

Which position do you want to fill..looks lije you can get only 1 of them.
