I think Rinzel is looking so good ,he still needs to add meat on those bones .
That's why I want him in Rockford next year. For my own selfish purposes, I don't want him in the classroom but doing everything he can to get bigger.

For my money, there isn't another prospect in our system whose development has jumped more the past 2 years than Sam Rinzel. Roman Kantserov is up there as well.

Rinzel has twice the amount of goals for the Gophers as Faber did in his last season there.

In less than half the games.
This is why I'm a big fan of having as many 1st and 2nd round lottery tickets as possible. Two of the most promising defensemen for the Hawks were drafted 25th and 43rd.

Let me introduce you to Jack Rinzel. The S&C coach at Idaho and Sam's older brother. The better question is whether Sam will keep his mobility when he comes an absolute unit when he grows up.

Yup , that's another reason that RINZEL is looking like GOLD !! 6 ' 5" frame , excelling now and can easily add 20lbs , maybe 35lbs .Speed ,size and smarts .

Maybe that's what Lazerus was getting at in 2026? :) I also like the idea of having another Russian on the roster for him to bond with and help with the adjustment and I don't think Mikheyev will be here. European soccer teams do it all the time when they bring in someone from Brazil as they always try to have another Brazilian on the roster for purposes of comfort. Maybe Levshunov from Belarus counts or they bring over Safonov?

Or maybe....just maybe they figure out how to get Kaprizov here in 26. That would be pretty cool
We did it when we brought Tichonov with Panarin.

I hate to be this guy but I'm genuinely asking. It's nice to see Lardis produce at 1.59 PPG in the OHL but last year, Gavin Hayes was at 1.38 PPG in the same league and doesn't look to have much of a future as a pro with has lack of production in the AHL. I know that 1.59 > 1,38 and Lardis has more goals, but are there any distinctive differences in their games that would make one think that Lardis has a future with the Blackhawks?

Hayes is 20 games into his professional career. Pump the brakes on the "he has no future" talk.

Lardis is a natural scorer/shooter and a much better skater than Hayes. Lardis' game has its own issues too but he should be able to create more offense at the next level than someone like Hayes, who projects more as a complementary winger that doesn't drive a ton of offense himself.

Apples to Oranges.

Totally fair. And I've never really seen Lardis play so I can't have much of an opinion on him. But I've seen Hayes at the world juniors and the few games Rockford has been broadcast on TV and have barely ever noticed him do anything. Maybe that changes but he looks like a non factor out there after producing like crazy in the OHL.

With the big club in the basement, all we have is hope for prospects and I feel much more confident that if guys are scoring in the AHL, KHL, or college, they will be NHL players whereas producing in juniors means little to me. Sure, Connor Bedard came from juniors as did some of the best players in the NHL but idk...I guess I just wish I could see them play down there.

Lardis has shown things that lead me to believe that he can score goals at the pro level. He plays an extremely junior game though. A lot of learning for him ahead.

Well, the point Powers was making in that post, and the reason I shared it here, wasn't the whopping one goal last game, but the ten shots on goal.

It's hard, no matter what the league, to put up double digit sog totals in a game. That's reason for optimism right there.

Who knows if he ultimately has a future here. What we do know is he's improving his value.

1) Rinzel turns 21 in June. He should definitely be playing pro next season.

2) Kantserov is red hot. Super excited for him as potential steal gem.

3) No need to write off Hayes. He’s an AHL rookie and has two more years of being waiver-exempt. Acknowledge the ceiling isn’t super high but saying no nhl future is too harsh.

4) most guys are doing pretty well. Just gotta stay patient
