I'm not tech savvy enough to post a pic from last nights HOF. Vince apparently has a new "look". I'm assuming it's real I'll let you decide for yourself.

My Stand & Deliver stream chat is filled with that pic.

He absolutely does and always did. Good charisma, not a particularly good promo though due to content, bad in the ring with poor/goofy selling, execution, and general match layouts. It basically amounts to Stockholm syndrome that people who stuck around with WWE tried to convince themselves otherwise.
I disagree completely. Excellent charisma, a very good promo when he needs to be, and his ring work is above average although a little cautious. He’s great at pacing when there’s a crowd worth a damn

I hate the never lose never get discouraged gimmick he had forever, but as a performer he’s been one of the best to do it.

US Champ Cena proved he could work with the open challenges.

Well, if you liked it you liked it I guess. Certainly no male wrestler has had more excuses made for his obvious shortcomings than Cena has since 2005 or so. His gimmick would have been a lot more palatable if he actually could put on a good match or cut a decent promo but he sold that merchandise to kids so quality really didn't matter.

A few years back an Observer reader made a great point noting that because Cena was able to make horrible material work the company just assumed that anyone could make it work. This is why you continued to have these horribly written promos that bombed constantly. They didn't understand that Cena is one of the greatest charismatic promo guys ever who could make reading from a phone book riveting.

I can see there being some truth to that. I cannot deny that the guy has top end charisma. I certainly wouldn't call any of his promos riveting but he accomplished most of what WWE wanted him to. A lesser Hogan is how I view him.

Same reason why when Danielson finally got over to Vince, they felt the best way to build faces was constantly beating them. And then beating the shit out of them.

All i know is once they start charging for ppv events again i am out.

Yeah I agree wholeheartedly. I gladly pay the monthly cost of ~$5-15 or whatever the network is worth based on your country. I figure, it's worth it having grown up as a kid when you had to pay $50 for a ppv, and i couldn't afford most.

Going back now would be asanine. You simply can't go back.

It'd be as ridiculous as Netflix all of a sudden saying "Hey guys - forget the monthly subscrition cost, we're reverting back to a cost per movie basis. $5 to rent each movie"

It simply would never work.

re: PPV Model. He might be wrong, but Meltzer seemed to suggest the deal with Peacock is pretty locked in for a few years,

I think Peacock could charge for “premium” content though couldnt they? I’m pretty sure the free ride on the Premium Cock is over this summer as well

If the content was good id pay, but they haven't been able to put together a complete show in ages
If i paid 60 bucks for either show this weekend I’d have been satisfied. There’s probably less than 10 shows in the last 10 years I could say that about

If they start charging I will most likely watch a big event here and there but only if there’s a group of friends getting together for it. So Mania/Rumble/Summerslam…maybe

They could, yeah. And WWE not see any of that revenue.
Makes sense. So NBC has already paid WWE for it, and can do whatever they want with the broadcast. There’s gotta be a ton of red tape in there. I’m sure NBC isn’t able to just refuse to broadcast a show or something. I know wwe was paid handsomely for the rights to broadcast but they still gotta have some control or the ability to set SOME parameters in how it’s broadcasted
