Hard pass on multi night paperviews.

But I also hate that we have to have a women's version of every match. (Or men's, if the storyline fits a women's angle better)

Ultimately they're making it unaffordable to attend a PPV.

Also, I agree. This years war games for example. There was absolutely no need for the women to have a war games match.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I feel the WWE is really over-reaching with the concept of two-night PPVs other than WrestleMania.
I think what with their roster being so big and stacked (and more talent coming in from NXT to replace soon to be retiring ones), they're trying to get more and more of the talent on the PLEs to both keep them happy and to keep their respective storylines going.

I think they're trying to get more and more from the fans pockets and its clearly working.

Yes, even if you might not get a one night sellout, the two nights make up for it, especially with the tickets being so pricey nowadays

one night of a full 75K seat stadium is great, but two nights at 62K is even better

Until it becomes two nights at 30k per night instead of one night at 75k.

Having more one-night PPVs overseas helps not over-saturate the NA marketplace, but it remains to be seen if there is enough demand for their product to justify two-night Summerslams, let alone two-night anything else.

I can see a possible issue with splitting the Rumble into 2 nights as well, as while women's wrestling is much more popular than it used to be, I can't see that match being as big a draw on it's own as the men's match. It either forces the fans to buy both nights to make sure they see the men's rumble, or risk maybe paying $500+ per ticket and not even seeing the one match you wanted to see, so one more reason to stay home and watch on Peacock/Netflix, on top of the outrageous ticket prices

Not to mention the gouging by the airlines and hotels for fans travelling to see the show.

And if you are travelling to attend the PPV, you almost have to go both nights to justify the overall cost.

They're doing it to attract international fans. Summer PLEs are easier to do due to European vacation periods.

Since the TKO takeover there has been a clear focus for them:

1) Growing international markets

2) Cutting production costs

3) Maximizing revenue streams (i.e. more two-night PPVs, proliferation of advertising)

It's a business so I'm not complaining, but the business focus has clearly changed in the Nick Khan era. As much as Vince was criticized creatively, when it came to production/sets/etc., it was always bigger, bolder, better.

Sadly, with the product at this level, they're not.

The problem is when they expand this much and then the product goes back into a lull.

Exactly. We are probably in the middle of this peak period in WWE, will the demand be there two years from now to justify a two-night Rumble or Summerslam as the product regresses to some degree, even if revenues remain high.

It also just runs the viewer into the ground.

Monday Raw = 3 hours
NXT Tuesday
Smackdown = 3 hours
PPV on Saturday and Sunday

Christ.

I'm amazed at where die-hard WWE fans find time to watch all that content each week. It's like taking on a part-time job.

I dunno that I'd say we're in the middle. They're still creating new stars that'll be around for awhile, even if the Bloodline story that's been carrying the product for 5 years now is nearing the end of its run.

It'd essentially be like WWE post Attitude Era. Yeah, it wasn't at its peak, but it still did well through the 2000s.

If Raw is going to Nexflix they would be better served Making a 2 Hours show(male only show) and a 1 hour woman only show.

There would be an absurd amount of bitching over this.

Not to mention you could potentially risk the women getting the 205 Live treatment where a large part of the audience doesn't tune into the women's show, and then instinctively treat it as the "Bathroom break" segment when it pops up on the main show.

"Leeway" probably means they don't have to promptly end the show at the top of the hour and can do an overrun if they need to. Or be more flexible with ad breaks so they're not breaking up matches. I seriously doubt Netflix is paying $5B to WWE to let them get away with producing shows well under three hours if they paid for three hours.

Overruns are better for wrestling, anyways. You don't have to use them every week, but if you're ending the show with a match, it kinda kills the suspense if you know it's gotta end by 11PM.

This.

Especially when you see a match that should be "big" start at 10 to. You either know it's getting blown up or ending in some sort of f***ery.
