Anti punk crowd still seething online, hilarious stuff. Last week they called him a racist republican for referencing himself listening to Cornette (staunch democrat) so this should be a beautiful thing to watch unfold

“Id rather choke on greatness then starve on mediocrity” before saying AEW is more focused on putting on Meltzer 5 star matches than growing is DAMN. He was there to run/grow a business and they had no interest in that. They still don’t really, and it shows in the ratings.

The companies have gone 2 different directions since he left and AEW is still the same as it always was behind the scenes. Turns out he wasn’t the problem! The guy in charge still remains the problem. You think Jack Perry is talking shit and mocking Bill Watt’s biggest star? No, because he would have respect for his boss in that scenario.

Also still the most hilarious, pathetic thing that TK said his life was in danger.

A reminder that Punk put himself on the pro wrestling map by having a 5 star match with Samoa Joe.

Very true but I doubt he set out with the explicit goal to impress Dave Meltzer in that match. Seems to be an “I only care about my opinion” kinda guy for better and for worse

Also the "we got him" about vince is odd, you didn't speak up or out for anyone...just in character
Listening to it in context no it isn’t. He isn’t taking credit for it in any way. He’s saying “we” as in the public. Some of y’all do some serious mental gymnastics when it comes to everything he says

Jack Perry cussing out everybody including Schiavone before they go to Punk to tell him no glass is certainly something. That’s what happens when talent doesn’t respect the guy at the top. Also the Adam Page shit sounds wildly unprofessional on Page’s end, I don’t blame him for showing him up with the coward stuff later on. Sat down with Punk for awhile and hammered out what they were going to say and then go out there and say none of it at all. Tried to verbally sandbag him.

“Tony’s a nice guy. He’s not a boss. And that’s to the detriment of the company.” It’s only what we’ve been saying for years!

Basically lobbied for MJF to come to WWE

All he did was prove that he started it not Perry. Just typical Punk drama queen shit.

I like the people who try to pretend there are any innocent bystanders here lol.

Jack was an unprofessional douche for throwing a hissy fit that they didn't want him to use glass. Jack was a major unprofessional douche for going on PPV (Pre show lol) and saying what he said. Punk was a douche for handling things the way he did and choking him out, by his own admission. (Though he did get what he asked for)

But, again, what it all comes down to is what people have been saying since Brawl Out... In the end it's Tony's fault because he wants to be everybody's friend rather than their boss, and he has no control over his locker room.

Side note: With a lot of pretty interesting stuff packed into that interview, Punk claiming he told Tony to let him go after Brawl Out may be the most noteworthy... I'm now fully convinced that he went to that RAW show to talk business (Probably did talk business and was thrown out to make it look good) and deliberately got himself fired in AEW.

He said Tony wasn’t gonna like the way he handled it if Tony himself didn’t handle it. Too bad Tony didn’t handle it because he has less of a spine than a jellyfish.

Oh I'm clear for sure, I listened to the whole thing. My less diplomatic opinion is, the guy talked shit on a live PPV, went backstage and told Punk if he didn't like it to do something about it, and got his wish lol.

We're now so far into the internet era that we have and entire generation of people who have grown up talking shit behind a screen and don't realize that when you do it in person, you might just get punched in the mouth, and it doesn't make you a victim.

I also like how everybody has completely glossed over that Punk essentially either confirmed his tricep was torn during the locker room brawl, or doesn't know.

That's indeed what helped him become an indy darling and build a following, no doubt. That is not what made him a millionnaire superstar. His ability to tell stories, on the mic and in the ring, is what did.
Putting aside the fact the idea that nothing in AEW is important except match quality is a complete strawman: Do you know who came to the conclusion that great matches by themselves don't draw and that hype and build is the thing that does exactly 35 years ago (and has constantly pointed it out up to this very day)? Come on, take a wild guess...

What are you even talking about? All I said was that Punk's main strength was his storytelling ability, not his "work rate".

And... 35 years ago? Try 100 years ago

Nothing that was said was truly shocking by any means. Just reaffirmed what many have come to think about AEW and how it operates.

Nah it's mostly shit that was already reported, though the one surprise was probably that he talked about it as much as he did.

I also think (Although this might have just been my own misguided belief) that we all assumed there was an NDA covering Wembley too, and there obviously isn't.

Probably the biggest thing he revealed that wasn't known was that Bayley was the one who invited him to RAW.

I don't know how anyone can defend Punk who's been a locker room cancer his entire career. Yeah, I'm sure Perry is a spoiled bitch but Punk is the one who physically attacked a coworker which is as immature as it gets. Laughing at Perry and calling him a bitch would've been the smart thing to do. And yeah, Tony handled the whole situation terribly, doesn't make Punk any less of baby though.

Jack literally asked for it. He’s just being a good coworker by obliging! The Blues fought each other in practice, this shit happens when you put a bunch of male Athletes in a cramped, stressed environment. Happens every training camp in football for every team. Historically has happened all the time in wrestling too. Shit it’s happened in AEW lmao

Doesn’t seem to be a locker room cancer in WWE! Seems like he still has tons of friends in AEW! Doesn’t regret AEW specifically because the friends he made like Brody King/Darby/Sting/FTR/Danhausen. Seems like AEW still has the same issues so maybe just maybe it wasn’t him after all and it’s the childish evp’s, their clique, and the jellyfish owner. Now they have the same issues plus an added one- declining viewership

it’s tough to take you guys seriously when you lot try to do things like claim Punk took credit for taking Vince down in that interview….starting to sound like Tony when he said he was scared for his life lmao

He did say believe what you want though because he’s making money off of it.

It's completely taken a backseat to all the crying about Punk's AEW stories, but I'm sure WWE appreciated him comparing finding out about Vince being a creep to finding out about Benoit killing his family.

Comparing a wrestling company to training camps for actual sports is just nonsense. And yes it's happened in wrestling before but that doesn't make Punk any less of a baby. Considering Punk made a douche bag comment to Perry was Jack supposed to just say nothing. And you know damn well Punk wouldn't have done anything if it was Hager or Joe who said that to him. Takes a pretty tough guy to attack a skinny wimp like Perry.

If you think Punk hasn't been a cancer his whole career then you need do some research. Go listen to Cody and Jericho's comments about him for instance. Hilarious too that you actually think you know what's going on behind the scenes in WWE right now. Anything to protect your boy though.

I literally have no idea what your last paragraph is supposed to mean. I'm also pretty sure that Tony was scared for his life considering he's probably the biggest weiner in the history of the world and likely views Punk as an MMA fighter(he's not).

Oh it was punk that made the douchebag comment first, that’s the narrative we’re going with now lmao….he did all of this to Jack completely unprovoked!

He referenced the chael line “I can’t let you get close”, I thought that was funny. If Jack is gonna get closer to him while saying that, what do you think is going to happen? Yall weren’t crying and calling Eddie Kingston a locker room cancer for fighting Sammy.

He wouldn’t have to do that to Hager or Joe because they’re professionals trying to do good business, not impress a gaggle of internet dweebs

It’s not lost on me how funny it is that you’re calling me out for not knowing what’s going on behind the scenes. The lack of self awareness, sheeeeeesh! Also idgaf what the Ayotollah of Non Disclosure had to say about him. Not everybody has to like each other, they just have to want to do business the right way.

If the toughness scale spans from "Wimp" to, "Three guys barging into one guy's locker room to gang up on him and still getting their asses beat", where does this fall?!

Things that are true:

- Punk is a sensitive egomaniac who has trouble controlling himself and who should learn when to let go.
- Jack Perry is a little bitch who pushed the issue too far
- Tony Khan has no spine
- The EVPs, especially the Bucks, are conniving little pricks who put their vision of wrestling over the financial well-being of the company
- AEW offers an alternative to WWE and it is important that the company survives so wrestling fans can get some of that too.

There is no babyface here. CM Punk is just better at being an upfront prick than the others

Did I say it was completely unprovoked? I said Perry was obviously going to say something back to him. The Kingston thing was one time thing so not comparable at all. Your comment about Hager and Joe is completely irrelevant especially considering Hager has done things that morons would call trying impress internet dweebs whatever the hell that's even supposed to mean. You calling anyone an internet dweebs is pretty rich btw. Over 54k posts on a message board but you're not an internet guy at all eh.

I don't claim to know what's going on behind the scenes because I don't know and neither do you. So what about Cody's comments or the many others who have called Punk a douche bag. You gotta be completely delusional to think Punk hasn't been a locker room cancer throughout his career.

Asses beat? Quite the imagination on you lol.

Which one came out with the black eye?

But I appreciate you defending the masculinity and toughness of Matthew and Nicholas. Pretty sure even the worst UFC fighter of all time could manhandle both.

“Considering Punk made a douchebag comment to Jack what was he supposed to say nothing?” You make it seem like Jack is merely responding when he provoked the entire thing doing his internet wrestling dweeb pandering BS with his douchebag comment

Yeah over almost 20 years on these hockey boards, talking mostly hockey in game day threads! I’m not an internet wrestling dweeb- the toxic, tribalist community I am referring to. If that offends you because you consider yourself one of those people then that is a “you” problem

You say you don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes yet you are speaking in a lot of facts about how people act behind the scene lmaooooooo

It’s ok do you. You don’t like him and that’s cool, I happen to appreciate how upfront he is about being an asshole. Breath of fresh air.

I think something we can all agree on is that Tony is really bad at being the top guy. Nobody respects him as a boss or a leader. Maybe as a friend.

So one of three guys getting a black eye means getting their asses beat? Or does Ace biting Kenny score points there too.

Not sure what your point is considering everyone knows those guys aren't tough guys anyhow. Mind you I'm sure if anyone who posts here put their body thru what the Bucks and Kenny do they'd be lying in bed for weeks.
