This year's draft is going to be entertaining. Some teams believe that this isn't a particularly strong draft so we may see a lot of movement of picks.

Kesler will likely be traded, and I could see the Hurricanes moving Cam Ward as well. Although the Oilers now have Fasth and Scrivens in net, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a hard push to acquire Cam Ward, and they have the assets to pull it off.

I think the Pens or Wings will end up landing Kesler as well, with the Pens possibly parting with Sutter and Despres and a 1st. Since the Nucks love their Swedes, Nyquist would probably be a player of interest for Vancouver, though I believe Holland holds him in high regard. Going to be an active summer.

A lot I think will change for the Nucks, I fully believe Gillis will be fired when the Nucks miss the playoff's.

i think movement also, because teams will miss out on a guy then want to trade down. teams with average to poor scouting may have issue identifying players in this draft. i'm hoping Dean and Futa can steal a kid or two that others passed on, or never saw as a result.

i think teams will possibly look to trade down this year for 2015. teams will try stockpile for that draft by completely dumping out picks this year in exchange for 2015.

Dean makes at least one trade on draft day for ?, but he moves AMart

I agree. I think not being permitted to make moves (allegedly) is the kiss of death

But you'd have to think they want to bring in a different GM to manage all the assets they have to liquidate. The total mismanagement of Schneider/Luongo is something they couldn't affort to repeat with Kesler et. al.

Fully expect the Ducks to have Kesler to start next season.

Ya, but it's fun to watch though, ain't it?

It's a car crash for sure. But it's almost as if they didn't realize the Pacific is a dogfight compared to the old northwest cream puff division. That and they were already on the back end of their window with the Sedins slowing down and it's just a sight to behold.

I can't think of much off their team I would want (Edler?), but you can be sure that a new GM will be able to do a Buffalo-style liquidation rebuild even if it's on a smaller scale. They still have some nice pieces.

If the Nucks get a Good hockey guy in the front office, they will be fine.

They have plenty of pieces to move, and start a good rebuild.

I listen to team 1040 a lot, love their guys.

They had this awesome line today .

"The Canucks are so far away from a team like Boston, you can't find them with a Search Warrant"..

HAHAHA

@TSNBobMcKenzie says that the #leafs & #wild had offers for Vanek significantly better than the MTL's, but NYI would not retain any salary.

No wonder our negotiations with the Islanders ended immediately and were never heard of again.

You can't really blame Snow on that Vanek trade (the second one). It has Wang written all over it.

[Cns]Called it yesterday;)[/CNS]

Nobody had the 5 mil in cap space to take Vanek on. Wang really dicked that one up:D

Hasn't that been the case from Day 1 of Snow being there? He's basically little more than a puppet to make the moves Wang wants. Wasn't Smith fired because he didn't like the Dipietro contract and Snow would do it? Most of the braindead moves Snow has made (offering all of the Isles draft picks to C-bus for the 2nd overall) have seemed like very much moves that Wang is telling him to make.

Refusing to retain salary and taking a worse offer is just so astronomically stupid on so many levels, especially with all the drama and press that was going to go along with whatever the return was for Vanek.

Ever Since Wang got his Lighthouse project denied, he has done what ever he can to screw over the NYI fan base.

Wang was really angry that his Lighthouse (Scam) got rejected by the public.

All the NYI fans can hope for, is that Wang gets tired of the politics of the ownership and looks to cash in by selling it.

Wang probably already wants to sell the team, but he is waiting for the Franchise value to hit a certain number.

Yup, just no deal to be made without the Kings sending significant roster players the other way to NYI. Also shows that a guy like Bernstein doesn't know jack.

Yes it has.

Bernstein works a hockey lifestyle magazine and throws a ton of **** at the wall hoping at least one thing sticks. He's in no position to question Dean.

He's in no position to question anyone involved in any teams hockey management or coaching staff. He doesn't get the fact that adding Gaborik spreads scoring out through the lineup. He just thinks Dean failed on deadline day because he didn't get a true scoring left winger or a top pairing d-man. But his holier than thou comments are what makes him look like such a jack ***.

he's a tool. i've followed/unfollowed him so many times i've lost count. after a day or two of his nonsense i can't take it and delete him. imo he's a hack and doesn't know **** about hockey. his sole purpose is to state/make confrontational statements, so it drives traffic to his hack site. he's as credible as the other d-bag eklund

That doesn't surprise me. It's sad to see how much Wang has ran that franchise into the ground being such a cheapskate.
