If Miller plays close to the level he has been playing the last 3 seaosn ( 217 pts in 202 games), and he is on the trade block by around the deadline, can you imagine the type of return he would get!!

To add a player of Miler's caliber at pro-rated 5.2 mil salary , possibly 2.5ish if Canucks retain, is unheard of.

Almost all playoff teams will be able to afford that....

Minimum 1st and top notch prospect and 2nd round pick.

If Canucks cant get that now, they need to just hang on to him until the TDL.

If a playoff team was smart, they'd get after Miller early in the season and not wait until the crazyness of trade deadline and the bidding begins.

I just wonder if the Canucks will have the guys to trade Miller if they are in a playoff spot come JAnuary.

I don't know what the right answer is but I would have thought Miller or EP for Zibby + Kakko + would have been a good base for both teams to explore. Now Kakko is gone for a rental and the Canucks are in an even deeper hole between their two stars.

I'll just throw it out there even though I don't see it happening or being fair value wise... Miller + Hoglander + Desharnais for Zibby and Kreider?

Something around Marcus Pettersson extended + for JT Miller?

Letang and Crosby match the competitive intensity of Miller without the toxicity and Malkin and EK65 will only be around til the end of next season max, so hopefully no issues could percolate (plus you don’t achieve their consistent level without great dedication). So, wouldn’t expect locker room issues while Sid is around.

Pens get one more shot with the core4 with Miller.

Van gets MP, plus other goodies and gets to watch JT suffer over the last 3-5 years after the core4 depart/retire. Who rides shotgun with Hughes? Beacuse MP- Hronek would be the best second pairing in the league.

It feels like there have been problems around this guy going all the way back to the Rangers. It was always weird that he seemingly just got tossed in to the McDonagh trade to TB.

Sure but he’s also put up insane numbers since then

I think if they’re forced to move him the return will be underwhelming and that’s why they’re so determined to fix things in house

Why is Vancouver trading a 100 point center on a great contract for a bandaid and bully?
Because Habs fans are so deluded that it’s almost a religious experience.

Miller’s attitude sucks but he’s a hell of a player. He’d bring back more than that if he smeared his own shit all over the inside of the penalty box.
