That is why our fan base is spoiled. That would be a rock solid season for Price, Quick, Miller, etc.

How many times has Price/Quick/Miller even hit .920? Miller has probably hit it the most. Lundqvist has done it five years in a row as a starter. No one else in the league has.

How many starters, playing 50+ games, finished with over a .920 this season? 6-8?

This was a solid season, albeit a poor and inconsistent start, but he really salvaged it.

he was awful to start the season, and he's been terrific the last half.

thats why it was a disappointing season, if he played the first half like he did the 2nd half, he'd be a vezina nominee as usual.

it happens, still the greatest rangers goalie ive evr seen, and a first ballot hall of famer imho.

he's also giving up a TON of rebounds which he usually never does. not sure why.

It isn't just his amount of rebounds, but rebound control in general. He used to be better at directing them where he wanted to go. I am assuming its still getting used to how the puck bounces off the new, smaller pads.

Awful by his standards, average by NHL standards (which I agree, was not good enough based on what we expect and need him to be). And if he played the first half like he did the second, he wouldn't have been a nominee, he would have taken home the trophy.

Granted, SV% is a fairly new stat (~30 years old). And eras are different (a .900+ sv% in the early 90s was elite). But as far as I can tell, only Hasek has had more than five seasons with a .920 save percentage. Luongo has had exactly five. That's it.

Hank has five in a row, and six total.

Even if we're only considering the last 15-20 seasons (i.e. the DPE era and since, when SV% skyrocketed), that's pretty damn impressive.
