Player Discussion All Purpose Goaltending Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Dostal played nearly 100 games in the AHL before spending a 44-game season in the NHL with a rebuilding team.

Wolf played nearly 150 AHL games before starting to play regularly in the NHL this season.

There is also Askarov, who continues to play his third season in the AHL calmly and no one is rushing him. (Mike Grier is a smart GM).

Levi has played more games in the NHL than he has in the AHL (26) so far. Now he just plays a few times a month, sits without game practice and fails.

Who do you think knows how to properly develop a goalie and who is an idiot?

Who is Kevin Adams

I must say the Flames are now reaping the benefits of properly baking Dustin Wolf in the AHL. He played almost 150 games down there. It's sort of what I want the Sabres to do with Levi. Forget he exists while he refines his game down there.

The problem is that he'll get called up play 1 decent game and then they'll refuse to send him back down for 2 months hoping that he can consistently play at a high level. Newsflash: Very, very few 22 year old goalies are going to consistently play at a high level in the NHL. Just let him bake.

So WTF happened today with and calling up Levi and no Reimer? Does Harrington need to call another press conference to find out ? Unless it was illness or injury, it's one more F up in 5 years of the goalie clown show (minus UPL) on top of everything else going on.

Eh, I don't/didn't mind rewarding Levi's recent play in Rochester with a game.

He most certainly wasn't the reason we lost today....and hell, he prevented the game from being MUCH worse than it was.

One game is fine here and there.

He just ruined his mood and will go back to Rochester.

UP-Dell is simply not playing at an NHL level this year. Not sure what happened

Man, would I love to have Dom with this roster that can actually score somewhat. We'd have a 140 point season and a guaranteed cup

Watching this old game now, the famous flyers game from April 13, 1998 where in the second period, NOBODY would score on Dom
