Seems Reimer isn't all that great anyway.

According to Moneypuck, he has 9 GA on 8.57 xGA.

Reimer hasn't been great. But, the Ducks have played like trash in front of him.

And Belleville (Ottawa) just signed Malcolm Subban to an AHL deal. Would have been nice to pivot to something like that to boost the organizational depth after losing Reimer...

Yes, Levi needs to play a lot, it's not right for him to just sit on the bench. While Levi is sitting on the bench, the same Askarov is spending his third season in the AHL.

how are you certain that upl would take the starters job as he has clearly w the past three without the competition w Levi ?

I imagine this was ruff, calculated risk etc

With GMKA's 5 year track record of handling the goaltending position I actually find it quite doubtful that he claims Kahkonen, TBH.

It's logical. Most people think it's the best plan to move forward, so it won't happen.
