I would expect alot of this chatter to ramp up again fairly soon, with a couple of games with the Jays in the preseason happening again.

They made this big hullaballoo about how Quebec-born Russell Martin was going to be the main attraction for the two games, as evidenced by the above image. And Martin was just traded to LAD two days ago.

Still, they're probably going to sell as many seats as in past years.

Interesting......as you say, they will still sell a pile of tix but this could hurt a little. Let's hope not. The brewers have a good team, so let's hope they can also help sell some tix. Too bad they wouldn't get the Yanks or Red Sox in on this action

I hope so but want justice to come to the right verdict, victim was 4 years old when this reportedly started:

Texas Rangers Hall of Fame pitcher John Wetteland sexually assaulted 4-year-old, police say | Crime | Dallas News

"Reportedly" is a very apt way to put it. We're only dealing with allegations at this point, as disturbing as they are:

One of Wetteland's daughters said in a Facebook post that the allegations were untrue and would be disproven in court.

Our thoughts are always first and foremost with the victim in cases like this, should the allegations be proven to be factual. Hoping justice prevails and for the best outcome for all involved.

Mets him at the bell center few years ago along rondell white and cliff Floyd.

I discussed with him for 15 minutes...Nice guy but a little weird....hard to explain.

He was a Jesus freak during his time with the expos and a born again since about 15 years.

Arrested in 2009 outside of his house with a weapon near his head...the police concluded about a possible suicidal tendancies.

Larry Walker 54.6% HoF vote this year, 75% needed. Too bad, Denver factor or not was hoping he would make it.

I heard somewhere that Walker has been making significant headway compared to past years. He has the support of the sabrmetric community and his numbers stand out when viewed from an analytics angle.

It's only fair that Edgar Martinez got in after they inducted an inferior comparable in Harold Baines . Halladay, Mussina and Rivera were easy hall of famers in my book so no complaints there.

Actually I think the vote is still ongoing as 56% of votes are public for now.

2019 BBHOF Tracker.xlsm - Microsoft Excel Online

[edit] seems over, spreadsheet not updated to reflect this. Yeah he made a big jump but would need another similar jump next year which is his last year of eligibility.

Bonds & Clemens are inching towards induction...

Never thought they'd get close because of PEDs. But I'm thinking, in a league where everybody would have been clean including them, they would have been stars still.

PEDs were the spirit of the time they played in.

Team working on getting Expos back released a report on Montrealers capacity to purchase tickets. Got them ranked 18 out of 27 baseball markets. Small problem, exchange rate was not accounted for. Once that was factored in, Montreal was 2nd to last ahead of Cleveland.

French:

Retour des Expos: une étude qui oublie le taux de change | VINCENT BROUSSEAU-POULIOT | Québec

This was not an omission but deliberate as they wanted to show relative purchase power. Economists disagree on this methodology.

No doubt in my mind they're both HoF talents, with or without PEDs.

I'm not 100% sure it'll happen from the voting itself but the HOF committee might decide to induct some or all of them at some point. It's a matter of setting precedents, if you allow McGuire in for example then you pretty much have to allow the rest. Some of the more old school voters don't want to open that door at all and I can't see enough of them changing their minds in time.

I don't believe in Expos' comeback at all.

Montrealers are unable to support the Alouettes and Impact.
