What do you even mean by this, in this case?

Have an independent thought for once..

I've defended Craig Morgan high and low on this forum, but when I see PHNX literally creating a new channel for Utah and 100% ignoring VGK broadcast rights AND an Arizona based Hockey event that not even Utah is doing... shows a huge amount of bias and shows me how much credibility he actually has.

Lets not forget the Seravalli %^& measuring and subsequent boot licking they did.

At this point i'll tend to believe what Frank Seravalli has to say on the subject over the PHNX Hockey crew
 
I think ol' Frank said the climate's gonna change, he might be right, it was certainly hotter this summer and into the fall.

They were ASKED to cover Utah. And it wasn't PHNX who added it..... it was the parent company ALLCity Networks.

PHNX it's part of a network that began in Denver Colorado (DNVR) and has since added Phoenix, Chicago, Philadelphia and most recently Dallas.

With Salt Lake City looking to become a three pro sports city plus two major universities there's a big void in sports coverage there. Utah Hockey is sitting in it's own environment right now but you could soon see them add the Jazz, BYU, (Univ. of) Utah, and possibly an MLB team within the next 3-5 years.

Craig's main focus right now is covering the Cardinals. If he has time for added Utah hockey content he does that.

I've watched the clip where he talks about "Arizona in five years" and I took it as any process beginning within that period.

And if you put it in the perspective that Utah and Atlanta began ringing the NHL's doorbell nearly two years ago..... a more likely scenario before we could physically see a team back is 8-10 years.

I don't think there is any way to get a team back unless there are shovels in the ground already. Maybe there is a super secret mystery buyer moving behind the scenes, but if that is the case, I think the best-case scenario is 8 years. Maybe less if it's Ishbia, the Dbacks leave, and the moon and the stars align. I don't see it happening anytime soon, though.

There you go, a clear bias to Utah when another Organization is actually actively supporting Youth hockey in Arizona.

Not a single peep about it.

Only point you're making is your continued bitterness that the team you used to follow is playing in a different city now.

It wasn't the players' fault....
It wasn't the fans' fault.....

It was the fault of several people on several levels beginning all the way back in 2005.

You act as if the Coyotes never did shit.... the Kachinas and several other program would have never existed without the Coyotes support. Guess you never saw all the tours around the schools the team did providing ball hockey equipment to get kids introduced to the sport.

Nor the Meruelo's parting gift of $2 million in monies and equipment to the Matt Schott program. He could have just kept the money and spent it in Reno getting the sport rolling here..

Instead.... what we have now is Vegas partially filling a void that was left behind. They had to give up Utah as a market. An opportunity closed..... another one opens.

It's good business.

I feel you man. Now that the devil Meruelo is gone, we don't have anyone to rage against. I'm still not mad at Utah. I just give zero shits about them. I thought about maybe following the Devis because I was born in NJ or the Penguins because I'm a Steelers fan and I used to be a Pirates fan before we got the Dbacks, but I just can't even look at anything hockey related on the net let alone watch a game. That's a bigger hole to fill in the passionate side of entertainment for me than I thought it was going to be.

It's better than nothing, I'll give you that, but a normal person would be embarrassed to gift such a relatively paltry amount considering the context. That's like cutting of someones legs, getting a f*** ton of money for doing it, and then "generously" paying for part of their new wheelchair as you peace out with your new fortune.

Watching last night, with finger constantly hovering over the mute button, was an interesting experience. I still like the players, coaches, and BA but hate just about everything else about this and ugh why did it have to be freaking Utah?! I'm not sure I could pick a worse location, I actually think I'd prefer somewhere in Canada even. :banghead:

I don't recall talking about anything the Coyotes did or have not done, not a single time so why are you going on about that?

The Bias of PHNX/All City for Utah is an absolute joke but you're in the same camp in my opinion - acting like nothing happened and just being "Utah guy" to fill your "Mod void" hobby - At least the team I'm following, and have followed since 2017 is actually contributing to this market.

Anyways, last night went as expected - Everything went right and I predict all will continue to go right for Utah because that's just Coyotes luck. I hope if a team comes back here that it is under a new brand and identity. The Coyotes brand is a joke and always will be a joke, - I'd rather not have the comparisons of the old and new Coyotes and just be something new.

Also, Ryan Smith and his wife are extremely weird people - Douchebags galore.
 
I gotta say, they showed Smith for the puck drop and he's got his hat on backwards (no big deal) but it also looked like he was cradling his nuts. Made him look like a total goof IMO. I think he was actually holding the puck in that hand. Made me chuckle a bit anyways.

But as long as he keeps writing the checks...

As for me….. understand I was a Kings fans decades ago (BEFORE Gretzky came to them) and before that a general hockey fan before the NHL knew the west coast even existed.

I followed players more than I did the teams themselves.

So if you want to pigeon hole me as some “Utah dude” I couldn’t give two shits about it.

I became a mod here because I was asked to by a lady who’s avatar sits at the top of your screen who knew I had massive experience moderating political discussions and running the largest message forum on AOL.

HF is like daycare for toddlers compared to what I’ve dealt with.

Yeah I get that it's best for them. It's not great for ME however especially looking at the reports of our former players tearing it up after two games. I try to stay away from any NHL info but it's hard to miss on the ESPN site.
