All Purpose Arizona Thread

Also of note, while he did play major junior, which would have previously disqualified him from playing in the NCAA (but not anymore), the team he's coming from is a Canadian university team - the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Adios Alex.

I predict there will be another NHL team here in the valley within the next five years. Build the arena in a central location and they will come!!

Just scanned through Craig Morgan's latest substack. He did a poor man's 32 thoughts (as he put it)

One thing he noted was there's been no drop in hockey participation since the Coyotes left.

Also.... in regards the Vegas coming in to lure some fans in with cheeky events, there's been very little other than that. Vegas has made no real effort on supporting the youth hockey end.

Neither has Ryan Smith with Utah, but Smith still has a lot on his plate right now with getting Delta Center expanded and developing the youth/adult hockey programs within Utah.

Add in Colorado.... who suddenly has triggered blackouts here..... MY opinion is right now all three of these teams are just interested in is selling streaming subscriptions and maybe a little merch sales..

Also mentioned there is some work being done on getting the NHL back to Arizona. But they are going to keep a very low profile for now because they don't want to make that same mistake of over-promising and under-delivering like all the previous Coyotes ownerships did

I don't mind that at all. If/when Arizona gets another team, I'd rather they wait until all the stars align for doing it the right way this time around instead of rushing it with the possibility of a grifter and/or bad deal. If that makes it take 20 years to finally come along, then so be it.
