From Jersey w/ Love
Glad I already got my authentic Nico jersey last year. I probably won't be due for another jersey for another 10 years anyway....

EDIT: To add, I wasn't even in need of an authentic. I just remember not wanting to have the fanatics logo on there - so I ponied up for the authentic.

I now believe it was inevitable.

In 2017, the league sold two versions of the new jersey

Fanatics “Breakaway” jersey for $120

Adidas “AdiZero Authentic” jersey for $180
Customized Adidas “AdiZero Authentic” for $249

A 2017 article comparing the two

Ok, I sort of get those price points.

It already seems kind of bad for Adidas though, they’re designing the jersey while the NHL has made a sweet side deal to sell the cheaper knockoffs.

Fanatics “Breakaway” for $135
{Women’s version for $125}

Fanatics “Breakaway” premade w/ players for $175
{Women’s version for $155}
There’s a ton available, at least +30. It’s a very weird assortment, get your Gusev, Geertsen & Jaros pre-made jerseys while ya can!

Customized Fanatics “Breakaway” for $204
{Women’s version for $185}

Specialty Adidas “Authentic Practice” for $120

Customized Specialty Adidas “Authentic Practice” for $160

Adidas “Primegreen” for $180

Adidas “Primegreen”premade w/ stars for $230
There’s Hischier, Hughes, Hamilton & Subban jerseys available

Customized Adidas “Primegreen” for $250

Newer Adidas jerseys (Reverse Retros 2.0, All-Star Game, 2023 St Patrick Day Practice, etc) & some newer Fanatic Jerseys (Stadium series) are $10 more.

I put the headachy mess of price points under a spoiler, because holy smokes, there’s a ton of them.

Fanatics offers a ton of premade jerseys, with a selection of players not available with the Adidas. So the price difference between a Mercer jersey becomes $175 (Fanatics pre-made) and $250 (Adidas custom).

The Adidas custom is a way better jersey, but they aren’t doing Adidas any favors, particularly since it’s a lot easy to order the pre-made too. (And you can’t see a lot of the differences in quality on NHL.com.)

They also have Mitchell & Ness vintage jerseys for $200.

Fanatics bought 75% of Mitchell & Ness in February 2022. They made a deal in June 2022 to make exclusive “streetwear” for the NHL.

The pictures of the vintage jerseys look nice too and that just adds more competition (from Fanatics) for Adidas.

I did all this make a pretty simple point which is it’s pretty clear Fanatic drank way too much of Adidas’ milkshake (aka jersey sales & profits).

It seems way out of control now, maybe the NHL started wildly favoring Fanatics after Adidas decided to break up with them. Maybe it was a sucker deal for them from the start.

I don’t see how another outside company would agree to make the Authentic jerseys, not when the NHL is hawking the shit out of someone else’s replicas of their designs and less available product.

If we can see the differences then someone in the league's purchasing office can as well. Presumably Fanatics will just take over the current factory and run it as it has been running? I do expect a vast gulf between the on ice product and product available to fans however.

Agreed, the authentic jerseys will likely be an entirely different (and better) product.

I hope they keep doing the Reverse Retro...but maybe every other year so my wallet takes less of a beating.

Hey everyone, quick question. I bought a blank "Jersey" jersey a few months ago (authentic but blank with no name) and it is a bit large on me. Unfortunately Fanatics return policy is only 30 days for this product (i can't even exchange it for the right size). It is in perfect condition and still has the tags on it. Where is the best place I can sell it (simply for the cost I bought it for)?

There's a Facebook group: New Jersey Devils Collectors United Memorabilia Collectibles & Game Worn. I would imagine you could find a taker on there if you list it. I think those specialized Devils groups are your best bet.

Has anyone ever bought a Jersey from this place? If so is this just third world knockoffs or are these actually good?

Vintage New Jersey Devils NHL Jerseys - Custom Throwback Jerseys
Those look like a nice deal - heavyweight and stitched numbers/letters/logo. They have the correct font and numbers too. They are replicas, not authentics but they're using the good materials. You might be able to find authentics out there that are heavier weight but they're pricey AF.

Found this comment when others were asking about the jersey stock.

Not a new jersey, just sharing a decision:

Now that the heritage jerseys came back for one night this season, I'm him signing an extension next season (oh yes) away from getting Mercer on my blank.

I will not consider another player for it at this point.

I saw someone say we are gonna wear them again vs Pittsburgh. Not sure if that's 100% though.

That's coo!

I love having a lot of different jerseys now. I know Lou is big mad.

My major complaint is I just like seeing fans in one color. Like the 2012 and 2018 playoffs was a sea of red, now we just have so many different jerseys that the fans don't look like they are in unison anymore. It happened last night too and that's why the Rangers fan stand out more cause the vast majority of them wear their ugly blues.

I do not worry about our fans instinctively wearing red for postseason games.

I just hope my red Stevens Maska with 1995 Cup patch makes it back from Exclusive Pro on time. (We're gonna gamble on us advancing and go to a second round game. I'm not paying for Devils/Rags first round.)

I haven't bought a jersey in a minute. What do you folks usually do size wise? Get your size or try to get a little bigger?

Adidas size chart is confusing me for some reason. They call a 46 a small, but the measurements seem more like a XL

I got a 52 Reebok that I swim in, but I think the Reebok 52 is larger then the Adidas 52?

Would love to see the team wear the white heritage jersey at home for thr playoffs and try to get a whiteout going. Just makes too much sense to stick with our red home jersey and do a red out since most fans own that jersey. Or atleast wear the heritage jersey for the road games. Only wearing it a fee times a year isn't enough! I'm glad they brought it back tho. I'm thinking next year it gets worn a handful of times and it will be worn on the road a game or two.

Anybody know the difference between these 2? Is one more "authentic" than the other?

The Primegreen is the “current” version of the adidas jersey, I think it’s made of environmental friendly materials and the logo is more 3D like on the front. I don’t think there’s to much difference to them aside from that, I personally haven’t noticed or felt any difference in the two when I wear them.

So I wear either 50 or 52 because I’d rather they run big as I like to wear hoodies underneath when I go to games. Adidas jerseys to me are a bit tighter fitting than Reeboks, specifically in like the armpit areas so I like the 52s to give a bit more space there. Definitely recommend trying on sizes to see what you prefer.
