But seriously, it's not the same at all, people aren't buying this to acknowledge the Scouts or the Rockies they are buying it because their is a Devils logo on the front.

Half the reason is because there are a bunch of degenerate spenders who would buy literally any jersey with a Devils logo on it or that the Devils wear and the other half simply have poor taste lol

lmao, a lot of conjecture and assumptions going on here. To each their own.

The cool thing is, like, no one is making you buy it.

Devils are on a nine-game win streak, let's argue about something!

I wouldn't wear it for free so no worries there. One look in any Devils Facebook group and there's no surpsie why people like this Wonder Bread meets Burger King mess of a jersey.

Devils being on a 9 game winning streak means we have to agree about everything! Yay!

I haven't opened a Devils Facebook group since DeBoer was behind the bench, but alright.

Anyway, I can't imagine Devils fans are gonna start walking up to other Devils fans at the Rock, "I can't believe you bought that, it's terrible and you suck." Something tells me no one's gonna give a shit.

BREAKING: People like to buy and wear things that *they* personally like without the validation of others.

ok that's fair

I just never thought I'd see the day wear the Devils wear blue jerseys on the ice for an actual game. It just feels all sorts of wrong to me because the color blue is the color of two teams I hate the most, Rangers and NYCFC.

The Red Bulls have worn blue in the past but that was before NYCFC even existed and since then it's only been for charity jerseys which I'm fine with cause at least it's for a good cause.

Wearing any sort of blue just to make money feels dirty lol

I actually really like the jersey concept so I just ordered one. I always debated getting a Rockies or Scouts jersey but I think this is a happy medium. Now I just need to decide if I go with a name of a Rockies player or someone on the team who will have actually worn this jersey. Maybe I should go with Chico since he wore both Rockies and Devils jerseys?

And I agree that the color scheme is not something you'd go with if starting a team today but it definitely hits the retro theme which I like.

Refer to my avatar.

To me, it's Seton Hall Pirate Blue and that's fine.

The blue license plates from the 80s. The blue shield on the state flag with the agricultural plows. The Atlantic Ocean is... Blue.

The fact that blue is relegated to a tertiary color and red is far more prevalent (no team in the area has ever used yellow and any shade of blue together except for the Red Bulls' navy and yellow road jerseys that one season or two, and the Jets' Titans of NY throwbacks that used navy and that mustard gold) makes it a unique sweater in my eyes. To be specific, no NY/NJ area team has *ever* used *royal* blue and yellow together.

Again, to each their own.

Don't worry Colin I still like ya even if you like these! Lol

If you do get a Chico jersey, he would probably get a huge kick out of it if you showed him and got him to sign it.

It absolutely screams 80s fashion disaster...

Which is why I love it.

I ordered a Bratt reverse retro but a Chinese “replica” one lol.
It was $60 CAD , I thought I’d try it out first and see what it’s like in person first.
If it’s decent , I might buy a legit one .
Im hindsight I should have got Chico on it or Seigenthaler . For $60 I’m prety sure it’s going to be complete shit quality. However… I just bought a “replica” Canada Goose brand jacket (knockoff)and it looks and feels exactly like my real one .
The stupid real jackets sell for $1300 CAD or more here for real ones. My fake one was $120…..
Amd it’s hard to tell the difference honestly .

I've never understood what supported the pricing of their stuff. A genuine down comforter isn't that expensive, so it isn't the fill. Are the pieces all made by hand?

heh, I gotta imagine.

My go-to winter jacket is a $430 Columbia TurboDown I got directly from their website last Black Friday for $215.
I guess you can turn anything into high fashion if people are willing to suspend disbelief. A man's suit is not really about the fabric anymore. Suit Supply and some other labels have had their suits made with Italian fabrics and gotten them to their stores for about $500. You are really paying for the hand tailoring and better construction when you buy a $1000 suit. I presume that the Canada Goose stuff has to have some element of that? Coats and jackets are fairly simple garments to make in today's world.

Totally agree that durability and build quality are what make brands expensive over the material itself.

I like the new RR. Just got a blank one and now start the process of figuring out where to get it stitched.

I got a white Christmas one when the authentic ones were having sales, I was thinking Bratt or Mercer depending on if the former re-signs long term

The more I see of it the more it seems like a solid jersey; I think the Devils' overall jersey layout just lends itself to that, since historically the franchise has never really done anything gimmicky or over the top, so you get solid colors, strips, shoulders, strong crest in the middle, etc. When the whackiest thing you can say we've done is the Jersey-Jersey, that means you're working off a sound foundation for these things.

Not sure I'm going to buy one, though; I've dropped enough money on jerseys for hockey and baseball. I also went through Royal Retros to get some cheaper Rockies/Scouts throwbacks, but I admit I'm not huge on the way those fit...eh, get what you pay for, I suppose. I'll see if my feelings change, but I still wish I had snagged a green RR while it was out, since now the only ones I can find go for like $400 on ebay.

Speaking of Reverse Retro customization, I'm also wondering where to go for that. I've sent my regular Adidas to Philly Express since I know for sure they do those. But their quality is below that of Exclusive Pro, and it's also a pain to submit orders through Flyers Skate Zone. Exclusive Pro advertises that they do RR jerseys, but I'm skeptical if they do the same font that the players on the ice wear if they aren't doing them for the team. I had an issue with them a few years ago putting the wrong font on a jersey....

Hey @Colin226 I think this just confirmed you should get Chico...

Also posting this here cause things tend to get lost in the regular Devils discussion thread...

It's like they knew how much I hated these jerseys and scheduled them on the only 2 games I'm not going to for the entire season cause I have conflicts with those dates, love it. Thank you Devils! Lol
